Jantrix Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 (edited) I've got the kit, sans tires and no real love for the design as it sits. It's not aesthetically pleasing at all. Has anyone done any kit bashing with this and come up with something unique that might stoke the fires of inspiration? I look at this kit and I come up with nothing. ANY help is appreciated. Draggon Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 It looks a whole let better without that roof, and with a slightly chopped windscreen. I think someone here is doing this:
Jantrix Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 Thanks for the help guys. Lee, I have other C-cab kits that would lend themselves to that much better. I think this one is destined for my trade pile.
Psychographic Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 It does have a decent frame and engine. You can build some cool stuff with them. It's a shame you didn't get the wheels and tires. Not that I have a great knowledge of parts from different kits, but the tires and Cragers in this kit are the nicest I've seen.
Zarana-X Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 I can't see any way to make that roof look good, especially where it joins to the body. I got one in an Ebay lot and its missing some velocity stacks and front suspension parts. For some reason, EVERY SINGLE PART was cut from the sprues. I've already used the wheels and tires on a 510. I'm probably gonna cut the floor out of the body and combine it with a Revell Sand Gypsy to make a decent buggy out of the two of them.
Jantrix Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 I have the wheels. But not the tires. Since I had no plans for the kit and the fella was REALLY looking for Blue Streaks and he'd helped me out before, I traded them away. I'm sure I can find something to throw on there though.

Maybe mine was just a dud, but they were perhaps the worst 1/25 scale 14" Cragar S/S wheels I've ever laid eyes upon. The center bore in three of mine were off center, one so bad as to make the wall thickness near nil...and I bought the kit specifically for the wheels. In all honestly, this kit is pretty bad IMHO, and not worth any effort. I'm sure you could make something cool out of it, but if you're uninspired by it already, I'd move on from it.
Dave Van Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 (edited) This started life as a Barris T Buggy......... It's what I call Ichabod's Coach.......I built it after watching the Depp version of the Ichabod Crane story. Kinda like what would he drive in a modernized version of the story. Made to look like a old wooden coach with Corvair power.......just for fun.....always thought I'd detail it more....but never have.... Edited April 2, 2014 by Dave Van
Modelmartin Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 One of the worst kits ever! There is a real Barris buggy on Ebay Motors right now. It looks better than the model. It does have a convertible top on it.
