RMurphy Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 Wow, a lot of nice kits have already been mentioned, but here'e a few more: Of the previously mentioned, I'd like to see following reissued: AMT 1925 Ford Model T Roadster AMT 1949 Ford Coupe AMT 1960 Ford Starliner - If possible a kit that includes both stock and custom parts, like the reissue of the '34 Ford 5W Coupe AMT 1966 Nova Street Machine - The old version without that ridiculous "Rides" wheel/tire combo and "melted" rear axle... The Meyers Manx would also be a definite must-have. As for other suggestions: AMT 1969-71 (Buick) Opel GT - If possible with the chrome-sheet that was missing from the "Buyers Choice" issue a few years ago (It was missing a chrome-reverse front wheel, leaf springs for the tube axle, injector tubes plus various other small parts). MPC 1971 Plymouth Roadrunner/Phantom Superbird MPC 1966/7 Mustang Flipnose (Yeah, I know it's a horrible kit that looks mutated and really doesn't want to go together, but it's also an important donor if you're planning to build Ohio George's '67 or '69 Mustangs.) If the tooling still exists, the clear-bodied version of the '69 O.G. Mustang would also be wonderful news. AMT 1940 Willys Coupe/Pickup (In spite of its shortcomings it still sells) - It would be nice with a set of retooled Olds Rocket valvecovers instead of those generic ribbed... AMT "Rubber Duck" Mack truck + Tanker trailer (How cool would it be if a CORRECT Mack RS700L with the Able Body CO. sleeper was issued?) AMT 1957 Ford Fairlane - retooled to the original version with all those extreme customizing pieces. In general, I think the latest trend towards using both retro-styled and vintage boxart is a great progress from the HORRIBLE boxarts used by ERTL from around 2000 and forward. Not that I think all models should look like leftovers from the sixties, but it would be cool if the boxart matched the time when the kit was tooled up - That would also give people an idea of what to expect (or not..) inside the box. Wow Gregg, that's a question with a long list of answers. I made a list of some of the ones I would like reissued and before I knew it I had a two page list and counting. What is your motivation for this question? Are you going to make all our dreams come true? HA I would like to see any and all of the annuals from the late 50's and early 60's. The old double kits too. MPC-'28 Ford P.U. AMT-'67-'68 Chevy P.U. '32 Chevy Cabriolet '58 Ford Fairlane '33 Chevy Panel '61 Buick Special '32 Chevy Coupe/Cabriolet/Panel '60 Chevy El Camino '27 Ford Model T w/side curtains '28 Ford Sedan '23 Ford Depot Hack '25 Ford w/ stock coupe body '32 Ford Victoria '39-'40 Ford Sedan '57 Pontiac HT/Conv. '58 Buick HT/Conv. '60 Chevy Wagon '60 Comet I'm sure that there are many others that I just can't think of but, these ought to keep you busy for a while. REX
Custom Hearse Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 This is your chance to get your voice heard guys and gals. What kits from AMT would you like to see reissued from AMT for 2008? If you have specifics, like last year produced, kit name, etc., that would help a lot. Thanks everyone. I sincerely hope everyone has a safe, happy, and very Merry Christmas. Wow.... I must of slept through something or missed it completely.... I thought AMT was calling it quits at the start of 2008.... Whats the deal? If they are staying in business I'd want them to re-issue all the 1/16 kits they had! Especially the '55 Nomad!!!!
Jeff Johnston Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 (edited) Here is the top 5 for me...in no particualr order of "want". I know I already responded, but a picture is worth 1000 words. Edited December 26, 2007 by Jeff Johnston
crispy Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 I wonder if this has anything to do with Tom Lowe and AMT. Still waiting to hear the press release. Chris
Modelmartin Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 Me? Meyers Manx, Tow'd, Streetle Beatle, Superbug Gasser Trophy series 23-25 T with all options from Fruit Wagon to Firebug! Trophy series Double Dragster MPC 32 Chev Cabriolet and the Panel
Phil Patterson Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 I'll just be happy if they'll go through their old tools and be sure there isn't something in there that hasn't been reissued in ages that has been overlooked. They've done very well bringing back the Camaro and Challenger funny cars, Buick Wildcat, both the stock 71 and the "Big Al" Allison powered 69 Thunderbirds. I'll even mention the 34 Ford pickup that got into Lindbergs hands inadvertently. When you think what may be waiting in there either ready to go, or may need a part replaced like the 59 Imperial kit, and what a good investment that was, it just boggles the mind. Start diggin, AMT, you've got a treasure trove on your hands if you just use it.
Billy Kingsley Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 59 Edsel! Not seen since 1959. 1962 Pontiac Catalina. I only got one of them when it was issued a few years ago, in fact, I only got it last year. I have a need for several more. Polar Lights NASCAR kits...do they count for AMT?
Aaronw Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 I'll even mention the 34 Ford pickup that got into Lindbergs hands inadvertently. You know Lindberg has recently (like this year) re-released this kit again.
