SICARD Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Hi, I`am from Germany. In Moment I worked on a GMC B-Series from the sixties. Look here:
Tesla Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 I always liked the look of these. Looking forward to more progress pics.
Jim B Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Very nice. Are you nscratch building it, or modifying a resin kit?
SICARD Posted April 8, 2014 Author Posted April 8, 2014 Hey, the Truck have a complete restyled frontier resin design cab
Bowtienutz Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Was the Frontier Resin Kit that far off ? or are you building a different version of the truck ?
SICARD Posted April 9, 2014 Author Posted April 9, 2014 Hey Vince, The Frontier Kit was my starting bases. But now it looks like very different. In Moment I`am working at the radiator grille. More pics the next days.
Bowtienutz Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 I'm sorry I'm still confused are you doing this because the the resin body was not accurate? Are you building a different version of year model or something other than original casting requiring you to make the mods. The reason I ask is I'd like to get one of these cabs and was wondering if it was worth the money.
SICARD Posted April 10, 2014 Author Posted April 10, 2014 Good Morning Vince, yes I'am doing this because the resin body was not accurate. The cab of my truck now is accurate, but it was many work. On saturday I go to a big model exhibition. I inquire there Resin for molding. Maybe it works molding my cab?
Bowtienutz Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 looks like another vintage resin disappointment. I tried to order months ago one of those Ford F650 cabs from Dan's models on Ebay along with the Frame for his 950 to create a replicate a cement mixer my father drove. Unfortunately it never arrived. I was lucky that Ebay refunded my $250 even though it was long past the time of refund policy. Every time I find a vintage truck I like it slips through my hands. I'll be watching your post I hope your casting works out for you.
Aaronw Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 SICARD with all the modifications you are doing I have to wonder if it wouldn't have been cheaper and easier just to start with an AMT 1960 Chevrolet pickup kit. Vince are you looking for the Ford N which is very similar to the GMC B? Motor City Resin Casters has a very nice Ford N600 cab. I got one recently, it is very nice and arrived in a reasonable time frame (about 4 weeks as I recall). http://www.motorcityresincasters.com/63n600.htm
Bowtienutz Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 I have Motor City N 600 It's nice. I was talking about a different truck a "F" series cab that Dan models cast
