Stopped in at the local Michael's store tonight and found that they had models marked 30% off this week. A little digging around and I found a COPO Nova. Shelf price was $21.99 so with the discount it was just a bit over $15.00, so it came home with me.

Didn't see a whole lot of new kits but for that money I just got a donor car of various parts!

Our Michaels will let you walk in and out as many times as you wish (to a reasonable amount). Only one coupon use per transaction though. You could go in 4 or 5 times a day and they wouldn't say anything.

That sucks, ours has about 30-35 car/truck kits, several planes and helicopters and a couple tanks. I just wish they carried Model Master paints like Hobby Lobby does.

The Michael's closest to me has a small and seemingly unchanging kit selection.I have all but a couple of their offerings in my stash.

Time to move out the old stock:) My HL was discounting a few kits too. Neither stores had any decent kits tho. Lame since Michaels usually has the 40% off weekly. Trying to cover their losses lol.

Michaels is the last place I think of to buy kits from now a days, most of their kit selection has been the same for the past four years

Me too Jonathan, but I was in there killing time the other night and saw the sale. I hadn't bought a kit there in probably 3 or 4 years and wasn't too surprised to see not much had changed.

I bought the COPO Nova for the parts mostly. I can use the exhaust on a 69 Camaro as the chambered exhaust wasn't a popular option on the real cars. The wheels and tires can be used on several different kits- Camaros and Chevelles come to mind. The big block is always good for something too.

My point is that I spent $15 and got some parts that I can swap around with other kits and fill the spares box if I don't want to build the kit.

It would be nice if they did update their offering but I don't think they are interested in the model business.

And that is better then paying full price, and makes it nice not having to use a coupon either

Picked up the Revell 57 Chevy sedan for 15 bucks after discount.

Only thing I saw that I liked was the Revell snap '63 Vette at $17.99, so I could get it for $12.59 now - or wait till Sunday, print the 40% off coupon and get it for $10.79. I just ended up buying some Alumilite resin with a half-off coupon instead.
