Daddyfink Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Greg, sorry, 69NovaYenko, I am well aware of the story behind the original winged wonders. Those pieces where designed for those cars and not this current brick. Just putting them those pieces on others cars does not mean they will work as they where originally intended. It seems to me that this was done as more of an homage or it looks cool to me attempt. I sure hope they did not really think they where going to actually work properly. The cars has all the other ingredients to go fast and I am sure with the proper aero components, it can go faster And yes, it still looks dumb.
Danno Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 I commented elsewhere in another similar thread . . . this thing looks awkward. Some styling cues and lines just don't work when transplanted to a stubby box-shape. The fluid, flowing lines of the Superbirds and Daytonas of old just don't work on the short, stubby, too-tall Challenger of today. I agree with Bill. Having said that, paint it red and call it "Speed." The kids will love it. As is, in black, it'll just cause a lot of nightmares.
69NovaYenko Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I agree as well Harry. If someone is going to modernize the Superbird, they should use something that could be interpreted as a Plymouth Roadrunner, and not a Dodge Challenger. Adding a Roadrunner emblem makes not a Super bird... Ture...true...true.
