The mechanics are going to school. These new emission systems are a real nightmare. I had to take a class on how to operate it and all the new equipment it has.

It's definately a PACCAR (noticed soem PACCAR badging in the first picture), but it looks more like something from Capt. Nemo's submarine!

no engine at all, it's just a mass of wires/sensors/tubing. each wheel has an electric motor to drive the thing. they had to put something under the hood :D

So sad, the days of loud pipes and rollin coal down the highways is almost gone. :(

Thats right, i drove an 88 379 pete with a mechanical 3406 with 700 horse, got over 8 mpg, i now drive a '13 386 pete, cummin isx and 500 horse, gettin 4.5, doin the same loads, on the same roads, dont lie to me that these new motors are more fuel efficent, cleaner burning, ok, not fuel efficent. Very aggravating, the maintance and extra cost of the DEF and DPF servicing, makin hard to enjoy driving, constantly forkin out money. Down time, all this is doing is costing the driver, owner , and company money with no change in rates. Ok enough venting for me
