FullTimeHobbiest Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 (edited) Hello again everyone, Foxbody Mustangs have basically consumed my workbench as of recently. I got this one on eBay from a Thrift Store somewhere. The box was badly tattered, its missing the decal sheet, and it needs a set of wheels. But, the price was right and the car fit the mood. So far I've stripped some chrome plating off of a bunch of engine components, started removing all the casting flash and seam lines from the body, and got the engine components to a point of primer. Big plans for this one guys! Ruined box Usable parts New home Ok, here's the work so far. Waiting on some Pegasus Torque Thrust wheels, and should start the exhaust later today. Stay tuned Edited June 1, 2014 by FullTimeHobbiest
Johnny1973 Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 (edited) I built few on the Mustang conv and 93 Cobra kits. What color did you decide on. Edited May 15, 2014 by Johnny1973
ERIK88 Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Nice kit, same box issue I had. I did mine red with a blk boot and saleen rims. I just had to modify the wheels a bit so that they wouldn't stick out much.
FullTimeHobbiest Posted May 16, 2014 Author Posted May 16, 2014 I built few on the Mustang conv and 93 Cobra kits. What color did you decide on. I haven't quite decided on the color yet. But I will be doing a factory color purchased through ScaleFinishes.com Got some work done today. Decided since this kit doesn't have any springs that i would make some. So I found some wire that would make for suitable springs, and then fashioned a tool to coil the wire evenly. Terribly hot weather today, but certainly dry enough to get some paint work done. Decided to wire the distributor boot. First time ever doing this. And my accumulative work of the day. Thanks for looking guys!
Johnny1973 Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Scalefinishes paints are great.I painted a few bodies already to get my through the summer here in Florida.
MsDano85gt Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 clean paintwork on the engine components nice work on the distributor for a first time!! i'm tuned in
FullTimeHobbiest Posted May 19, 2014 Author Posted May 19, 2014 Slowly but surely work is getting done on this kit. Mainly just primer and paint. Went to spray the chassis and only got this far before the can hissed empty. Wheel choice and springs! And finally, my very first wiring job. Thanks for looking, hopefully more updates soon!

JTalmage Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 I like where this is going. Less lowrider, and more function
FullTimeHobbiest Posted May 21, 2014 Author Posted May 21, 2014 Good luck on your mustang , from conv to conv hey where u get those engine wires? What did ya use? That's a sweet build you got there! The engine wire I got on eBay. Came as a part of a set of stuff.
FullTimeHobbiest Posted May 22, 2014 Author Posted May 22, 2014 Finally getting some tangible work done on this project. Got the wheels painted, mounted and decal'd thanks to MsDano85gt. Got around to painting the chassis and testing fitting the wheels fitment. I have since shaved the inner hub of the wheel to fix the poke issue in the rear. Before I mounted the rear end assembly for good, I wanted to have an exhaust system figured out. I decided to go with a Catless H-Pipe to the muffler section that will eventually get 90 degree turn-downs at the muffler. This is what I've come up with so far. With the rear end in. Thanks for looking, more updates soon!
