om617 Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 Seats will get another coat or two. With primer. Excuse the Biscayne who sneak into the pic lol
om617 Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 Things where going kinda good until i unwrapped the grill, then i realized i got screwed on Ebay. It clearly said 1:25 scale and Johan, but it`s obviously an 1:18 grill from some sort of diecast. I had no way to check this out. The resin grill is gone,i had to separate it from the bumper to fit, also if i was to crome it myself.but the grill cant be saved. Well,so i got tired and annoyed so i ordered grill, lights and bumpers from Modelhaus. This means this will be on hold for a good while. Also i noticed i dont have enough BMF,another great day lol Anyway, here is how the exhaust will look like, also sanded the slicks. Engine more or less done, needs more touch up on the firewall. Dogdish from Missing Link, looks pretty good.
10thumbs Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Tommy, your 63 Dodge is beginning to look nasty! I love it! Michael
om617 Posted June 19, 2014 Author Posted June 19, 2014 Thanks. I do wish i had this exhaust i have seen on some pictures where it looks like you can choose strip or street. If anyone knows aftermarked production of these i would really appricate it.
tubbs Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 super looking build. am a bit mopar guy and have been wanting this kit for a while. did you get just the body or does it come complete? the exhaust you want comes in the polar lights 65 coronet. cut outs and all.
om617 Posted June 19, 2014 Author Posted June 19, 2014 Thanks Al. I think i have been bitten by this mopar bug myself. The body is Flintstone resin,i bought a part out from Ebay. Chassis, tub and engine are Lindberg 64 Dodge 330 Color Me Gone. Thanks for the tip,is this of those kits who are more or less done painted, so you just have to assemble them?
tubbs Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 yes, that is the kit. I am not sure if it comes in the convertible or not, so if you purchase one, get the hardtop. or post up a "wanted" add here.
Ron Hamilton Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 yes, that is the kit. I am not sure if it comes in the convertible or not, so if you purchase one, get the hardtop. or post up a "wanted" add here. Yes there was a JoHan 1963 Dodge Polara Convertible kit. I have this one in line to be restored.
Speedfreak Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 That exhaust system is very cool, I can see why you would want one. PM sent.
moparfarmer Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 If your looking for a grill/bumpers/rear facia bumper...Modelhaus has them..Got some for the 63 Dodge I got off the bay years ago....Fit perfectly and are very nicely cast..Chroming is perfect...
slusher Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Looks great so far. Where did you get the exhaust with the turn downs??? I like it...
om617 Posted June 20, 2014 Author Posted June 20, 2014 Thanks for the tip and suggestions. It looks like i will get hold on the correct exhaust. Carl,it`s parts from the AMT 57 Chrysler 300C.
om617 Posted June 25, 2014 Author Posted June 25, 2014 It say 4 to 6 weeks but this took less then 14 days. Coupe of days and the parts are here. I have read lot`s of nice things about Modelhaus so i am excited to get these parts. I also order some Cadillac stuff.
High octane Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 While I have a mint JoHan '63 Polara Hardtop kit in my "stash" that was very hard to come by, I believe you can get one from MCW. Check it out.
Slammed1 Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Great build so far,I did those 426 Max Wedge cars. What other 2 door post sedan is on the table next to your Polara?
om617 Posted June 30, 2014 Author Posted June 30, 2014 Tommy, what parts did you get? Everything plated, bumpers, grill, headlights, rear panel and rear bezels.
om617 Posted June 30, 2014 Author Posted June 30, 2014 Great build so far,I did those 426 Max Wedge cars. What other 2 door post sedan is on the table next to your Polara? It`s the 65 big block Biscayne,i think you find it in the "under glass" thread somwhere. The other one is a Lincoln Woodie project.
om617 Posted September 7, 2014 Author Posted September 7, 2014 Pulled this one up again. Need some good suggestion on how to strip paint since it`s resin body. Sorry have not been active lately, been very sick so have only had some sneak peaks on the forum now and then. Not got much done other then dealing with high fever and cough until i puke lol.
Jeremy Jon Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Great looking build Tommy, awesome workmanship as always, looking forward to seeing it completed! Get well soon!
