migace Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 I love this thing! this was a rather rare version in a promo form before Brookfield started doing the nascar vans based off the promo tool. I got it with the original package introducing the all new 1996 Express. Chevys previous generation van design dated back to the 70's. It is a very nice and heavy model. I want the blue one that was made in the same series. If anyone has one I have things to trade. Thanks for looking!
Tom Geiger Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Neat! Brookfield did some really nice replicas in their day. What ever happened to them?
migace Posted May 24, 2014 Author Posted May 24, 2014 This tool is still being used racing campions uses it now. As for Brookfield I think that possibly minting Chrysler Concords, dodge intrepids, neons etc. might not have been as attractive as the corvette vipers etc of the other company's. Although seems like every where I turn I see their older nascar racing stuff all over the place.
Nick W. Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 I have the blue one! I added a steering wheel and column from a 1996 tahoe kit! I love those vans.
Rob Hall Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Neat! Brookfield did some really nice replicas in their day. What ever happened to them? IIRC they had a fire at the their factory that destroyed a bunch of tooling or something, back around 2000 or so. They made some really neat stuff, I have their Neons, an Aurora, the van, the LHes and JAs, a Monte Carlo or two...
martinfan5 Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 I would like to get my hands on one, and the Johnny Lighting Ford Econoline Van
Rob Hall Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 I would like to get my hands on one, and the Johnny Lighting Ford Econoline Van The JL van is nice..I have one in the red Coca-Cola livery..not sure how many versions they did.

Those were all promo runs ordered and paid for by Chrysler. Nothing wrong with filling a paid order! And they did it well. I have examples of the Dodge Caravans, Plymouth Voyagers, Neons, Intrepids, Cloud cars and more... all very nicely done.
hooknladderno1 Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 I have two. One is being converted to an ambulance. The other has been converted into a Fire Police van. Unfortunately, it is in storage and I don't have any photos of it available. David
Tom Geiger Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 You don't see ambulances like that in the USA anymore, but whenever there's disaster coverage in Israel, all the ambulances seem to be US GM vans. Now that would be interesting markings to do decals for!

Tom Geiger Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Anybody have the Brookfield web page adress? I like vans and I'll like to modified some for me! Thanks! Brookfield has been gone a long time. Best source is eBay, there's a lot of their product still out there.
