Hey Fred, really love the interior. I wish I could do white as well as some of you guys can. White anything on a model always gives me fits lol.I really like the way this build is going. I cant wait to see it finished.

So after my lacrosse tournament trip with my son I got a little bench time today ( it's canada day ). I had the interior in before I left thursday. Today I got the engine and steering box in as well as the rad and hoses. Had a small hiccup as I noticed I left the shroud off AFTER I had the chassis all secured! I got it in thankfully but some cutting and patching is happening. So I thought I would take it outside for a couple pics. Comments welcome

Thanks guys. I had a problem with my shaker setup. It was way too high. I trimmed what looked like excess cast on the air cleaner posts for the carbs and lightly sanded the hood sealing gasket. Got it now but wondering if anyone else noticed this. The engine etc is all in the correct location btw

Hi Fred Thanks for the heads up on this issue. I haven't gotten to the shaker yet on my build, but I'll let you know if I run into anything like your issue with it. I did a test fit this morning on my engine, fan belt assembly, and radiator and shroud and all is gonna go in just as I planned. I been working on getting the engine ready for detail and paint today, But weekend plans with the wife is gonna sideline my build time this weekend.

That's great it's gonna fit. I freaked out when I missed the fan shroud! All good now. Could you flip the air cleaner upside down and look at the mounting posts. Mine were fatter then near where the mount they were stepped smaller in diameter. I trimmed all that off plus some. Then that led to a nice smooth notch on the underside to clear the distributor/ plug wires. I will take pics of what I had to do when I get home tonight

Hi Fred, sorry it took so long to get back with you, the wife and I went camping this weekend, so I didnt get time to work on the cuda. I finally got the chance to start on the engine and engine detail yesterday and am finally at working with the shaker. You are correct as far as the excess needing to be trimmed off the mounting posts on the shaker filter, but you shouldnt need to do anything else with it. However the angle of the distributor needs to be dead on for the shaker to sit right, and even then there really isnt clearence for adding plug wires. A fix for that would be to trim a little off the distributor shaft to make up for the extra space that adding plug wires take up. I am using a aftermarket spun aluminum pre-drill distributor with a vacum advance on it, from Scale repro's plus, he makes some great stuff. The distrib isnt ribbed like the kit one is, but then again the kit one doesnt have the vacum advance either, as well as it only has 7 ribs instead of 8 like it's supposed to, so it isnt really accurate either.

I will have to trim the distributor shaft to give extra room for the shaker with the plug wires added, and I'll have to make sure I get the angle right, but it should work. I do alooooottttttt of test fitting everything as I go just to be sure. That's why this build is taking me so long. I'll be posting a few new pics of my engine work over on my build in the next few days.

I also just sanded a small notch on the underside for wire clearance. Once it's painted you can't see it. I have not been at mine in a few days either. I also tried to sand open the shaker grilles. Don't do that! Lol. Failed miserably. And for the work it didn't change the look of it

I got a bit more in on this. Car is dirty so don't mind that. Here is the stance I think I'm going with. It's using the lowered suspension. I think it just looks right even if it's stock. Engine bay nearly done. Couple decals and wiper motor. The hood latch plate is giving me fits. It's too long! I didn't get too carried away on this one as the shaker covers most things. Let me know what you think...post-8987-0-73991400-1404918912_thumb.jppost-8987-0-86764800-1404918934_thumb.jppost-8987-0-03419400-1404918954_thumb.jppost-8987-0-74195500-1404918973_thumb.jppost-8987-0-40729600-1404918995_thumb.jppost-8987-0-76312600-1404919015_thumb.jppost-8987-0-46582500-1404919040_thumb.jp

Hi Fred, Your cuda is really coming along nicely. I like the stance and the over all theme your going with. Your color combo really works. And your paint job looks glass smooth from the pics.
