WigWag Workshop Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Good Day Folks! I apologize if this has been asked or discussed in another thread. Is there a tutorial or a template for making a bracket for those "Floating" altenators in Revell kits? One takes the time to detail and wire the motor with plug wires, but these motors look odd having a alternator floating in mid-air. Thanks in advance for any help, -Steven
High octane Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 The alternators are not "floating" as the belt holds them up. LOL! I believe Model Car Garage has a bracket set, and there are also a couple of brackets in one of their engine detailing sets I believe also. Or maybe it's Detail Master that has the brackets(?) as I do have them somewhere in my "stash."
Miatatom Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 I think this is what you're looking for. I've got to make one for a 61 Falcon Ranchero I'm doing. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=33133
espo Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Photo etched brackets are the most correct for scale, but I have used very small strips of Plastruct and have been pleased.
cruz Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 You can get a little creative and make something simple out of Plastruct stock just as I did on this Olds engine.....
WigWag Workshop Posted June 13, 2014 Author Posted June 13, 2014 I want to thank everyone for the replies! I will be giving these suggestions a try, and I will post the results. Thanks Again, -Steven
