tbill Posted July 13, 2014 Author Posted July 13, 2014 well, it's got a power plant got a few more bits drying, and waiting for glue to dry on others, might have more to post later.......
guitarsam326 Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Nice job, love the colors! Just one suggestion, the exhaust plumbing is anything but perfect, I had to heat mine and tweak it some for a better fit. Keep up the good work
tbill Posted July 14, 2014 Author Posted July 14, 2014 (edited) Sam, ya, I was fiddling with the fit of it earlier, it will need some tweaking for sure also got my mud flaps done, Edited July 14, 2014 by tbill
Tesla Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 The mud flaps came out great! What's your recipe for making these?
rctruk Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Your builds are always an inspiration. You truck is looking great.
tbill Posted July 18, 2014 Author Posted July 18, 2014 thank you Jeff, I just try to do the best I can. I finally got one of those new ray excavators the other day, so, just for kicks, I tossed it onto a trailer I built awhile ago, and 'hooked' it to the in progress road boss to see how it all looked. plans are to detail the excavator [eventually], and ultimately the trailer will be hooked to the DAF 'cattleman' truck [again, when I get around to that one], so anyway, here's a look, hope to make progress on the truck this weekend if yard work doesn't get in the way....
Chuck Most Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Looking really good, and making this kit look good is no small thing! I have one of these I'm about 95% finished with and the thing fought me every inch of the way. I'm just hoping that'll make seeing the finished product that much more satisfying.
Tesla Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Very nice Tom... looking forward to your excavator project also

tbill Posted July 23, 2014 Author Posted July 23, 2014 thanks fellas, haven't been in the 'room' since I posted that, been super hot/muggy, so been in the pool and just relaxing in a/c after hot days at work hope to have more progress soon, but it's close, i'm running out of parts
Superpeterbilt Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Tom, what are your plans for the wet line ? Are you using the tank from the trailer kit behind the cab, or an extra frame mounted side tank? Someone needs to make a square diamond plate behind the cab tank and chrome it. Ill get around to it one day. Just curious
Tesla Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 I forgot to mention how nice the grille looks...great job!
tbill Posted July 23, 2014 Author Posted July 23, 2014 Terry, yes, I plan to use the tank from the trailer kit. I've been thinking about some sort of rack too, but not sure where I will end up with that. Dennis, thanks. some of these grills are tough for me to try to detail, but this one has nice crisp molding in the 'mesh' area, so the black wash worked pretty good on it. Pavel, thank you. I was worried about my color choices, but it seems to have worked out
