Plus these can be swapped with parts from the 454SS kit, or the Stepside, I was workin on a couple of these... I'm sure not your style, but I love these... Fabrux Posted June 25, 2014 Share Posted June 25, 2014 The "snap" kit is the dually promo, which first came out in 1990 I believe and ran through to 1998. I have a 1994 and a 1998 promo. Most of the cab parts from any of the AMT C1500 kits are a direct swap, and the cabs will swap with the beds. This one isn't quite done yet, I'm in the process of putting a partially detailed underhood in it, top half of the engine, master cylinder, etc. I'm leaving the frame as is. The cab step stirrups are from the AMT KW sleeper. Snap kit kitbashed with the ramp truck body. mikemodeler Posted July 2, 2014 Share Posted July 2, 2014 The Modelhaus offers a replacement chassis for this kit that allows you to use the engine and suspension pieces from an AMT kit (SS454 is the most likely given it's big engine) to build this into a fully detailed model. It is shown in their catalog (2013) for $12.00 and for another $2.00 they also offer mirrors for the kit. These kits do build up easily and are very accurate in their appearance. Two red two green Now I only have a red one left, but I'm keeping it! we have a farm toy show in Van Wert ohio every September. That's where I bought mine , The fella had two cases of them . Most likely he will be at the show again this year , and will be selling them again!
