unclescott58 Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 (edited) I only use radial tires. Would never consider going back to bias plies on any vehicle I own. Edited July 12, 2014 by unclescott58
unclescott58 Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 (edited) By the way, that first post I made is a joke. It's true. But, meant to be a joke since you weren't very specific in your question. I assume your asking about radial airplane engines? If so, what's not to like? My all time favorite airplane, the Beech 17 Stagerwing was power by radials. And AMT made a very nice kit of this plane many years ago. Still have. 1/48th scale and the engine is hidden under the front cowling, so you don't see much of it. So it's not very detailed. Yes radials are cool. But, what do you want to know specifically? Scott Edited July 11, 2014 by unclescott58
JTalmage Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 (edited) Radial engines are neat! seen em in a few cars on youtube! Edited July 11, 2014 by JTalmage
Rob Hall Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 (edited) Hmmm...I think this may be about radial aircraft engines. I also only buy radial tires, as bias-ply is from before my time. Edited July 11, 2014 by Rob Hall
Mike Kucaba Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Radial engines are neat, Have several in the stash. The really BIG one from Revell which was originally Renwal. Some from the Williams Brothers in 1/12th and 1/32. After seeing a couple of 1:1 bikes built with Radials would like to try putting one in a 1/12th bike kit.
philo426 Posted July 11, 2014 Author Posted July 11, 2014 Yeah dudes!I figure if there was some mystery(does he mean radial tires or radial a/c engines)the thread would garner more interest and replies and it seems i have succeeded!
Rob Hall Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Found this pic whilst googling...a '68 Chevy pickup w/ a radial engine. Radical!
Agent G Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 The sound of one of these monsters is a joy to be heard. The Henderson Municipal Airport is the home of a restored F6F Hellcat and an F4U Corsair. Nearly every Sunday I hear one of them flying about as my house is nearby. What do you plan on doing? G
The70judgeman Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 How about a 28 cylinder Pratt & Whitney R4360.
WigWag Workshop Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 (edited) Or howzabout a radial engined VW? Oh My!! I want this vehicle! Or better yet, this engine on VW Type II Split Window Bus.. Edited July 13, 2014 by WigWag Workshop
Jim B Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Nice looking radial, and I like the red trim. What aircraft is this?
