A buddy of mine wants me to build a model of a car he used to own, a '66 Charger. What would I have to change about the Revell '67? He will be ordering the correct wheel covers from Modelhaus, and I plan to try and use the engine from AMT's '71 Charger.......

Thanks for any and all help!

The '66 Charger didn't have the fender mounted turn signals like the '67 did, and there may be some interior changes as well. I'm sure if you "Google" the two Chargers you would come up with all the necessary info.

That was what I found, back in early 2004, when I went to develop a '67 version of the Johnny Lightning '66 Charger (simply by a new paint scheme)--the interior upholstery patterns were different, and no front fender-mounted turn signals.

Plus the '66 had a center console that was a full length, one long console spitting both the front and rear seats. The '67 console stopped where the front seat ended. Leaving a carpeted floor space between the two rear seats. The '66 could only be had with buckets and console. The front console could be replaced with a fold down arm rest and seat cushion in the '67. The '66 was also available with wheel covers with three blade spinners. Spinners were no longer legally allowed by federal law on the new cars for 1967.

Great info! Thanks....

I browsed around a bit and found that Modelhaus carries the correct interior for a '66, but it's made to fit the MPC kit.

Does anyone know if the Modelhaus tub will fit the Revell body and chassis?

It's unlikely to drop right in. I don't have the Revell kit in front of me, but I'm pretty sure the interior assembles onto a floor that in part creates the driveline tunnel on the underbody. The MPC piece sits atop a separate chassis/underbody, so it would be shallower. If the door panels are the same, you might be able to get the Modelhaus piece, cut out the console and rear seat, and adapt them to the Revell interior.
