Supplies came in yesterday that I needed to continue so a bit more done on the hairpins. In these pics, the axle is upside down as the glue dries. This whole assembly is getting so fiddly and I still have the rear connections to do.

More work planned tomorrow.

Thanks brother Joe. I know you were wondering about Zap-A-Gap and if it'll hold up. This axle is all held together with Z-A-G and Scale Hardware nuts and bolts, so yes, it'll hold up.

Thanks for your comments fellas. John - I'd be happy to share with you how I do this although it seems each time I build one, its slightly different and improved on. I had a setback on re-attaching both of the steering arms. If you recall from a much earlier post, when I originally mounted the tie rod with the steering arms, I found they were in the way of the hairpin radius rods. I had to rethink this for a better solution. I've got it all worked out but had to take the steering arms off and develop a new way of mounting them and change their angle to clear the tie rod. It's all worked out and I've the last hairpin to finish up.

Pictures soon.

Man, what a busy day with house things to do so i was delayed on getting the hairpin radius rods mounted and completed.

Here's a couple of pictures. Glad these are done.

Now onto the tins. Thanks for following along. Comments welcome.

I had to double check if it was real or model... Excellent work with all of the details. As I rarely detail suspension parts that much, it's great to see how you guys do it. Excellent work, this is one of my favorite projects on here, keep it coming.

Thanks for your kind words Niko. Glad you're along for the ride. Getting closer every bench session.

What can i say brother John? Appreciate you following along and your interest. I put those dang hairpins off and after such contemplation, they went together without a hitch.

With the last two radius rod pictures from the side, I thought another pic from the bottom would show them a little better.

The frame still needs some touch up after all of the handling and I'll do that after the tins are in place. Still working out the details on those. Thanks fellas.

Finally got a bit of bench time in yesterday. started off by trying to fabricate the frame rails that goes under the turtle deck with brass rod and soldering it together. I can tell, this will take some practice. It was so bad, I didn't even photograph it. I moved on to something I'm a bit more comfortable with, the tins. I had the bottom one made previously and with the first drilled hole for the rivets, I screwed up the placement and had to start with a new one. Here's a few pictures.

I used printing plate and will make up some sides next. The rivets are from Scale Hardware and man are they small. I had to trim the length off so they wouldn't go all the way through the frame. My cockpit finally has a floor.

More this week.
