Byron5150 Posted August 9, 2014 Author Posted August 9, 2014 Byron, It looks just awesome so far!! You did a way cool job on those wheels. And that finish is great too. There is a pic in there that shows you waving in a shadow shot that looks pretty cool also! David S. Thanks so much David, I really appreciate the kind hearted words. The wheels took forever to paint probably a good hour Yea I tried waving at you guys and to try and show the reflection, Im getting better at paint jobs I think. Glad to here you like it!!
slusher Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Byron, since you have worked on your detail, its your choice I would turn the tire letters to the inside and smooth side out. General Lee did not have any white lettered tires...

Byron5150 Posted August 11, 2014 Author Posted August 11, 2014 Got the belt and fan assembly installed. I was going to detail it a bit more but you won't really see it that well. Here's the engine before being mounted in. And a few pics of the car at it's current state. I just have to fix the front suspension and the wheels will be mounted. And now all we have left is the engine bay, and a few exterior parts.

blunc Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 looking great. a couple tips to apply to your next build... the spark plug wire boots on the dist cap are usually half the size as you made on this build. the top tank on the radiator (and radiator cap) has a mold line that is usually not present on real cars.
Byron5150 Posted August 12, 2014 Author Posted August 12, 2014 (edited) looking great. a couple tips to apply to your next build... the spark plug wire boots on the dist cap are usually half the size as you made on this build. the top tank on the radiator (and radiator cap) has a mold line that is usually not present on real cars. I know mold lines don't exist on a lot of things lol. Sometimes I don't even notice all of the mold lines haha thanks for the tip. Yea detail master says to cut the spark plug boots to 1/16" I followed this wiring tutorial off of some low rider tip and the guy cuts them to 1/8". http://www.lowriderbike.com/model_tech/03lrmsum_distributor_cap_wiring/?__federated=1 I'll make them shorter next time I do it. Thanks Great engine detail, your getting close... Thanks Carl, I just have to figure out how much more detail I want in the bay Edited August 12, 2014 by Byron5150
