I made the roll cage out of 062 rod.I put in a filler panel on the top inner of the wheel tubbs,and added a divider in the trunk.

Thanks Wayne,That is the hardest cage i've had to fab because of the tapper in the lower part of the body...

Always loved small block Vegas as drag cars....Heck, if I was doing it, I'd be tempted to drop a 331 smallblock w/ dual Holleys in it, stretch the wheel wells, paint it white and call it "Grumpy's Toy"!!!....Always loved his Vegas!!

Thats a great idea Lee,but i do have a plan in mind.There are a few replicas of that car.Neat car it is too.Thanks for your input.

My dad had a Vega with a Firebird V8 in it. He said no matter what gear you were in it could smoke the tires! :blink:

I decided to go with convo pros .i like welds but the chrome on the rears were a bit .....ed.

You're right on track Stan! That's a lovely big engine in there, and I like the wheel/tire combo. I enjoy your builds.

Looking good so far! I like how the engine looks, the shade of that orange is excellent. Good looking air cleaner, too. Where is it from? The wheels will look good under this body, even if I'm not the biggest fan of those Convo Pros. But I'm pretty sure they'll fit nicely in a Vega.

Cheers Niko,The orange is chevy engine enamel(vht)The air cleaner is a 1 i cast,its origin ie from the 55 chev step side pickup...

Engine is looking super Stan. You have made lots of progress. Have you thought about any colors?

Looks good, nice tight tuck and the engine sets just right. Interested to see how you fit the dash?

Thanks James,Here's the dash,its just stuck in using some modeling clay.I did cut it up a bit and made a new top pad for it...
