Ron Hamilton Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Tom, That correction looks to be first rate. I hope you have it cast for those folks who would want it.

kelson Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Does anyone have an idea when this beauty arrives?
mikemodeler Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Does anyone have an idea when this beauty arrives?Nothing on the Moebius website nor Tower Hobbies, but considering the only changes (based on box art) appear to be the grille, I would think it could be here by the first of the year.Hopefully Dave Metzner from Moebius will chime in with an expected date.
Atmobil Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 OOOHHH!!! Yes please!!! Will be interesting too see what parts come with that kit.
Rob Hall Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 OOOHHH!!! Yes please!!! Will be interesting too see what parts come with that kit.Same as the 69 but w 70 grille and trim is what I've read.
Atmobil Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 That sounds ok, will be interesting to see if we get all years eventually.I would like to build this:http://images.sfae.com/product_images/preview/1495.jpgSteve McQueens truck, looks to me that it is a 68.
carnut Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Hopefully they will at least fix the inline 6, has anyone taken a close look at the engine block?
mk11 Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 It's been discussed, along with other things that would be a credit to moebius to tweak. I'm not holding my breath but just hoping, as I make my own corrections, they will consider some of them. mike
carnut Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Mike, I agree I will make corrections to it when I use it in an AMT 49 Ford Coupe project that I'm planning.
Matt T. Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Tom, Any update on your fine resin conversion? ??
Repstock Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Tom, Any update on your fine resin conversion? ??No. The idea seems workable enough, but the execution just doesn't cut it for a resin master. It's just not crisp enough.
Ron Hamilton Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 No. The idea seems workable enough, but the execution just doesn't cut it for a resin master. It's just not crisp enough.Maybe not, but it still looks good.
Matt T. Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 No. The idea seems workable enough, but the execution just doesn't cut it for a resin master. It's just not crisp enough.Darn. Could you recommend bezels and possibly show us where you sliced and spliced grilles? I may try it. Thanks in advance.
mike 51 Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 (edited) No. The idea seems workable enough, but the execution just doesn't cut it for a resin master. It's just not crisp enough.Sorry to hear that..it still looks far better than Moebius' clumsy attempt at measuring/modeling the grille for this truck. I sure wish they respected their customers enough to fix such a glaring error... Edited October 29, 2015 by mike 51
mk11 Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 (edited) It is amazing how much can be forgiven as long as the 'face' of a kit is right. When it's so obviously out of proportion, everything else is suddenly suspect. Not that we can probably expect corrections on this one as it was a limited run, but if they do reissue it, we can hope they're listening. It's an unfortunate hiccup in their well done variety of kits. Perhaps if they're planning to market another pre-70 edition, say, a '67, both grills could be done at once. I guess the magic word so often missing in these kind of reviews should be added here: 'please' mike Edited November 25, 2015 by mk11
Matt T. Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Agreed. It's a great kit, except for that grille.
