Lovefordgalaxie Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 This one is a 1:43 scale diecast from Altaya that I reworked. It represents the Brazilian 1969 Galaxie 500. The car has some subtle differences from the 1966 Galaxie 500 North American made, even tough our 1967 model was the same car as the '66, and was launched in late '66 as a '67. The Altaya model had some paint issues, that I corrected by repainting the roof, and polishing the trunk and hood. Also added BMF to the trim, as it was all painted silver. painted the interior in red, to make the most desired color combo around here, black with a red interior. The cars painted like this were called "red widows" The most radical change was the replacement of the wheels and tires with parts from another Galaxie model, with much less detail than the Altaya, but with far better representations of the wheelcovers and tires. I did some wash on the wheelcovers, on the grille, and painted the white lines on the tires. I guess that IXO, the company that made the model for Altaya is going to release it trough it's Premium X 1:43 scale model brand. They did the same with the Brazilian Maverick GT, that was first released trough Altaya, and latter released by Ixo trough Premium X with lot's of PH parts and even tiny printed "Firestone Wide Oval" lettering on the tires. 1969 Galaxie 500 by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1969 Galaxie 500 by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1969 Galaxie 500 by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1969 Galaxie 500 by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr
peekay Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 I don't believe it - a 4 door Galaxie! Really nice!
unclescott58 Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 By the way, do you have a model of a Brazilian Maverick GT? I'd love to see that too. Scott
bbowser Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Impressive work in that small scale. Love the 4 doors!
Lovefordgalaxie Posted August 24, 2014 Author Posted August 24, 2014 (edited) By the way, do you have a model of a Brazilian Maverick GT? I'd love to see that too. Scott Yes, I have. Also in 1:43 scale. It's the simple version sold by the Altaya publishing on newsstands here. You can get a more detailed one from Premium X. unclescott58 Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 The Brazilian Maverick GT looks a lot like a US Maverick Grabber I see. Still cool to see. Love cars built in other parts of the world that look a lot like ours up here. Like your '69 Galaxie and Maverick GT. If you have others like these. It would be fun to see those too. Scott
Dominik Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Very nice Sedan! perhaps, i have not seen you wrote it...but was it a 2-dr you converted to a 4dr?
Lovefordgalaxie Posted August 25, 2014 Author Posted August 25, 2014 Very nice Sedan! perhaps, i have not seen you wrote it...but was it a 2-dr you converted to a 4dr? No it's not a conversion, it's a four door from birth. The body is all die cast metal.
