"I broke your heart, and I made you blue

Instead of hurting back, you said 'I love you'"...

Hint: Recorded by four very different singers in the '60s, including one you wouldn't expect...

"I know if you'd seen her
You'd tell me cause you are my friend
I've got to find her
And find out the trouble she's in
If you tell me she isn't here
I'll follow the trail of her tears..."

Hint: A lot of singers covered this one too, including one legendary rock 'n' roller...

hey Lee, hope you don't mind but the song was titled "Memphis Tennessee". yea, i'm a big Johnny Rivers fan, hope you don't mind the correction.

No problem, and Uncle Albert was by Mcartney and Wings, not the Beatles.

Life isn't easy from a singular side

Down in the holes

Some emotions are hard to hide

It's your decision

It's a chance that you take

It's on your head

It's a habit that's hard to break

Young man's heart is hungry

His soul is on fire

But there's no tears in his eyes

Because there's no discern

it's a long way home

And everybody knows

Cause it's gonna come

So people get ready now

Let's add a couple more verses and drop a few hints. This song was released in 1991, and the band's name was the same as the 16 year old guitar prodigy in the band. His older brother handled the vocals, and the song reached #9 on the US mainstream Rock chart.

See the pain in her eyes

Just a little girl

Caught up in the tide

Turns her heart against the world

It's a long way home

And everybody knows

Cause it's gonna come

So people get ready now

Right song, wrong title. It's "Superstar." But I give you credit for thinking of the right song,,, B)

Definitely a tough one, UO was never really big nationally, but they were pretty big here in Chicago for a while. Home town heroes... :D

For some reason I always thought the first line was the title! Whooops. Never owned a Carpenters Album, but never had a problem listening to 'em.

Oddly enough, though the title is "Superstar," that word isn't in the lyrics at all.

Better stay away from those that carry 'round a firehose,

keep a clean nose, watch the plain clothes,

you don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.

This'n should'nt be hard ;)
