ChrisBcritter Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 (edited) "And there he'd stand and yodel-lady-ooin' all day And it would ring out for miles You could hear him in every chalet..." Hint: Big mostly novelty artist. Had a little trouble with the song's title because of objections from a beer company (which might have caused it to stall on the charts). Story in the song was partly copied for an episode of Family Guy. Edited April 25, 2015 by ChrisBcritter
Snake45 Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Linda Ronstdt was the Queen of the Cover. All of "her' big hits were covers... Poor, Poor Pitiful Me... I Can't Let Go... It's So Easy (to fall in love)... Silver Threads and Golden Needles... You're No Good... When Will I Be Loved... Love is a Rose...Heat Wave...That'll Be the Day...Carmelita... and on and on and on. All covers. Blue Bayou, Living in the USA, Simple Man Simple Dream, Mad Love, Allison...and on and on. Carmelita was a big hit for her? Funny, not in my area. (Although it must be Zevon's most-covered song. I bet I have recordings of four or five different artists covering it--which baffles me. It's a good song, but not IMHO a GREAT song. Zevon wrote many much, much better tunes that most people have never heard.)
