" I'll ignore your cheap aroma

and your Little Bo Peep diploma"

"Dirty Love" by Frank Zappa

You know I've smoked a lot of grass

O' Lord, I've popped a lot of pills

But I never touched nothin'

That my spirit could kill

You know, I've seen a lot of people walkin' 'round

With tombstones in their eye

The pusher man

right on the group, but what song?

Hallowed be thy name.

This may seem silly. Its definitely not what most would think.

It's amazing the number of songs Dylan wrote that other people (all of them better singers :D ) made famous or had hits with. I used to have a whole mental list of them but the only one I can think of at the moment is "All Along the Watchtower." I suppose there's a whole generation now that thinks "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" is a Guns N Roses song.

Well as was already said, The Birds covered a bunch: Mr Tamborine man, chimes of freedom, positively fourth street, & my back pages. Joan Biez covered a bunch, Neil Young covers a bunch live, Hendrix covered a few, The Hollies put out a whole album of his songs, The Turtles covered it aint me babe, Rod Stewart covered Forever Young. The interesting thing about All Along the Watchtower is now Dylan plays it Hendrix's way. Ive seen him play it live twice and comes close to hitting the solos. And its not his hired gun playing lead either, its Bob! Hes been quoted as saying that Hendrix made the song his own. So when he plays it now its as a tribute to Jimi.

Heres an interesting list. http://www.pastemagazine.com/blogs/lists/2009/04/50-best-bob-dylan-covers-of-all-time.html

Sun going down
On a canyon wall
I got a soul
That ain't never
Been blessed
Yeah and I'm a shadow
At the back of the hall
Yeah, I got a sin
I ain't never confessed

"Lola" by the Kinks

That song was originally banned in the UK, but probably not for the reason one might think

#1...

Since you've gone I've been lost without a trace.

I dream at night, I can only see your face.

I look around but it's you I can't replace.

I feel so cold, and I long for your embrace.

First when there's nothing

But a slow glowing dream

That your fear seems to hide

Deep inside your mind

All alone, I have cried

Silent tears full of pride

In a world made of steel

Made of stone
