Superpeterbilt Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 That R-Model was a great truck! I just never really got acclimated to pulling a dump trailer, was always afraid I was gonna roll it over!.............................................Mark I know the feeling, but the frame trailers are a little harder to flip than the frameless. All it takes is some clay stuck up front and itll go right over. We had an all steel frame trailer that had been flipped, and it was so tweaked, even after being cut apart and straightened, that it felt like it was gonna go back over everytime. We didnt have that one long.
Petetrucker07 Posted September 12, 2014 Author Posted September 12, 2014 I only pulled an end dump for a short time, about 2 weeks. That was the only time i had ever been nervous, white knuckled, while driving. I hated end dump work.

I swear my dad could dump one with the truck jackknifed and not flip it. Ive also never met anyone that could get through the gears as fast as him, my brother was close tho, but my old man could speed shift double sticks like nobody else.
Petetrucker07 Posted September 12, 2014 Author Posted September 12, 2014 I like the looks, especially a polished high side spread axle Mac. But as far as operating 1, not I. Them big swingin truckers can have it.
tbill Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Anthony, I guess I didn't read that completely should've paid closer attention, thanks again for the clarification. Clayton, I think I used krylon chrome paint, tall skinny can.
Petetrucker07 Posted September 19, 2014 Author Posted September 19, 2014 Does anybody know what the overall length of this trailer is?
Petetrucker07 Posted September 19, 2014 Author Posted September 19, 2014 (edited) So with tape measure, measuring the built kit, its about 12 inches. Edited September 19, 2014 by Petetrucker07
Petetrucker07 Posted September 21, 2014 Author Posted September 21, 2014 Thats a cool pic chuck. I may just build another Ca hauler for this. I cant help it, i love me a peterbilt.

Petetrucker07 Posted September 21, 2014 Author Posted September 21, 2014 Thats a good look unit you got there Anthony. All your stuff looks real good, the 1s ive seen pics of. Im really leanin towards the pete more, because i have 1 in my stash already.
foosh Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 My choice would be a 359. Hey Clayton, on this one I used testors metalizer aluminum on the tanks.
foosh Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 How about a snap 359 with Moebius rims and AMT 11.00 x 20 tires and a drop stainless visor.
foosh Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Short WB, single fuel tank, wheels and tires from Diamond Reo, steel bumper single stack fleet truck.
Superpeterbilt Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 (edited) . Man, I love that one. Thats a great build. I have a few spoke rim Petes in the queue. Edited September 21, 2014 by Superpeterbilt
Truck parts Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 That is some great builds, Lenny had did you make the rear ax ass.on the trailer?
Petetrucker07 Posted September 22, 2014 Author Posted September 22, 2014 Lenny, your yellow truck, man that made me think and now im committed. Theres a crane and heavy haul company out here, Bragg crane/ Heavy Transport. Thats my direction for my truck
foosh Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Gordon, the first trailer is out of the box, on the second trailer I cut off the center suspension to make the spread axle and on the last trailer I just cut off the lead axle suspension. These kits are really nice to build but one thing I found was that the axles are too wide and cause the tires to extend beyond the side edge of the trailer so they should be narrowed. It's an easy fix and makes a big difference. If I remember correctly DOT regs state that trailer tires/wheels cannot extend past the outer edge of the trailer.
