Mpc 86 el camino

Building this one into a lowrider. The lowrider scene is what got me into this hobby, back when lindberg sold it's jumping dancing red impala boxed kit, along with the purple lowrider van and others. I still have barely any room to build , but took out the bare essentials needed to build this one like e dehydrator and paint booth. Hopefully it gets finished in a few days . One question for you guys , does the chrome trim around the bed of this el camino apply for all Camino, or can I skip this part?

im pretty sure it was stock, i saw one ('85 though) at a stock car show. Look it up on google

Most if not all late 70s to 80's el caminos I've seen have the the chrome trim. Idk if it came on all of them but it was on a lot of them

All El Caminos , regardless of the model year , came from the factory with chrome ( or stainless ) trim around the bed opening .

Thanks for clearing that up I knew ever one id see had stainless trim but I couldn't say all had it for sure

I think I'm gonna have to go with the cover off on this one, shows the el caminos true lines without them

Erik, its your choice but all my el caminos have bed covers on them. I have a 66,65,and a 86. I like the sporty look. Keep up the good work...
