Ace-Garageguy Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 And some more from those wild and crazy Russian ekranoplan guys...
Ace-Garageguy Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 And something really fat and weird...
Ace-Garageguy Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 (edited) More lifting-body pix... Edited September 18, 2014 by Ace-Garageguy
Ace-Garageguy Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 How about the Lippisch "Aerodyne" ?
slusher Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Wings , rockets and faster than a speeding bullet. Same wing I use to draw stuff like these in school. I may have been on to something and didn't know it...
DonW Posted September 18, 2014 Author Posted September 18, 2014 How about the Lippisch "Aerodyne" ? I'm trying to work out where the luckless pilot was strapped in - did he /she sit just in front of the tailfin?... I guess it was either 'fly that or it's the Gulag Archipelago, comrade!' I thought I knew about planes but I've never seen those Russian devices - what's 'ekranoplan'? Never saw the fat Lockheed device either.

Ace-Garageguy Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 I've never seen those Russian devices - what's 'ekranoplan'? "Ekranoplan" is a Russian term for "ground-effect vehicle". We call 'em WIG (Wing-In-Ground-effect). They don't actually fly, but stay in ground-effect. The big ones were intended to be high-speed missile carrying surface-attack alternatives to subs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRT-R9BidoM
Russell C Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Planes sans wings = at least two motorhomes, and likely more...
Agent G Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Can any one confirm, I believe that's a Neptune behind the A-26's? Also, this thread is proof positive that if we knew half of what's being secretly tested somewhere out in the desert, we could explain 90% of all UFO's. G
Ace-Garageguy Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Can any one confirm, I believe that's a Neptune behind the A-26's? Looks like a bunch of Neptunes. The one that still has engines has the right 4-bladed prop, the right engine cowling shape, the vertical stabilizers look right on all of them, and the slight bubble canopy looks Neptune. Glass noses too. Must be Neptunes.

Petetrucker07 Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 (edited) Anybody remember that short lived show called wingnuts. I think it was on TLC or Discovery. They furniture out of old airplane parts. Edited September 19, 2014 by Petetrucker07
