kilrathy10 Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 (edited) Well, Boys, I finally finished this thing.....There may be a little touchup to the trailer interior to be done, but it's mostly done.....I kinda wanna get started on something else, now.....Not that I'm bored with it, but I have a LOT of trucks to build.....If The Lord lets me live till I'm about 137, I think I'll get them all done..... Anyway, a few of you are familiar with this build, but for those who are not, I built this to "replicate" a truck that I see every day on my way to work......With a few added touches of my own, of course..... I gotta say.....Jerry's decals http://modeltruckin.com are the best I've ever seen.....Real high quality stuff, Boys.....Need some more of those..... Other than those, I stretched the frame, made my own fuel tanks, tool boxes/APU, and used jewels from HL for marker lights.....Some double diamond plate was added to the wheel wells and front portion of the trailer.....It just seemed like the thing to do..... I hope you boys enjoy it as much as I had fun building it..... Here it is with the fleet..... Edited September 18, 2014 by kilrathy10
Petetrucker07 Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Looks great JT. The fleet looks great. Im sure whatever you start next will get the standard "treatment" and look right at home with the rest.
slusher Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Very impressive build JT. Your a really good builder and your builds are so clean and perfect. Real nice work on this one...
towman1271 Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 The orange is back.. All seems right in the world again.. Great job as usual!!
Jim B Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Nice fleet of bedbuggers you've got there. Very well done.
foosh Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Nice work on the Freightliner and great lookin' fleet. Keep building.
Tesla Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Great job on this one JT...looks awesome! Nice fleet picture also
redneckrodder Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 looks great that chrome just pops against the orange
Mackvision Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Very nice! I got a soft spot for bedbuggers! (22 years leased to Atlas Van Lines)....................................................Mark
Chris White Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 now that's putting the "BIG" back in the rig. Nice work
trick my mixer Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Super nice work JT!!!!! The only thing you need to make them look like real bedbuggers is a box of ritz crackers and bag of Doritos on the dash. LOL!!!!!!!
kilrathy10 Posted September 19, 2014 Author Posted September 19, 2014 Thanks a lot, Guys.....I had a ball building it....I really like this one, and I'm glad y'all do too.....Thanks again, Fellas....
72 Charger Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Those decals are looking realy good there is no bleed though the white top quality I would say . What chrome paint is that ,is it alclad?
kilrathy10 Posted September 19, 2014 Author Posted September 19, 2014 Got some outside pics added....
Brinx Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Great looking bugger JT! You've brought The old-school Kentucy, drom and Freightshaker together perfectly. The driver and his "helper" bring it to life.
kilrathy10 Posted September 19, 2014 Author Posted September 19, 2014 (edited) These are all the paints I used for this one, Dave.....I used the Silver Foil Metallic for everything.....Looks good, huh?? And in ONE step....Paint it and walk away....And thanks, Mike.....I love those little figures.... Edited September 20, 2014 by kilrathy10
72 Charger Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Im not sure we can get those Krylon paints in the UK . It sure does give Alclad a run for its money . Do you use gloss black under it first?
kilrathy10 Posted September 20, 2014 Author Posted September 20, 2014 (edited) It will, actually, luster like that either way.....With or without primer.....Sprayed the trailer with it right over the orange.....Not like other paints, as it coats very well, and best applied in one coat.....Excellent stuff....
