Porscheman Posted October 15, 2014 Author Posted October 15, 2014 Bravo Al! As a fellow Lincoln builder you make me want to get back to mine. It's not easy to make that trim on the fender edges look good, but you nailed it. One question: Did you have any issues with the fit of the front bumper/grille? The opening on mine had to be filed out a bit on either side for it to fit. Thanks again guys. I didn't have any problem with mine, but mine was built by others prior to my purchase.
Maxicoop Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 that is one sweet lookin' glue bomb save !!!!! fantastic job !!!!!!
Porscheman Posted October 16, 2014 Author Posted October 16, 2014 Thanks Ron and Greg. There's nothing better to me than bringing someone's nightmare, back to the way God intended. Al
Ron Hamilton Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Thank you everyone for the nice comments. Steve, I think the whitewalls are from the Trumpeter 60 Pontiac that I parted out. The ones from round 2 are perfect also. I landed my Holy Grail 69 Continental today and will be picking it up Friday night and starting it on Saturday. Al Hey Al, Would you like to have a suicide Lincoln buildoff? Since you are getting the '69, and I have a few, and would love to do one. Maybe Chris ,Steve, and anyone else would like to get in too.
Porscheman Posted October 17, 2014 Author Posted October 17, 2014 I'm in! But I have to warn you, I was the proud owner of a beautiful 69, the car love of my life.

I'm not much of the competitive type Ron, but I do have a couple of new Continentals that are due to arrive tomorrow or Saturday. A 1963 & a 1959. The '59 has me a little intrigued. I have nothing that's ready for restoration at the moment except for possibly a '60. The rest all need parts to go for re-chroming. But I could probably fast track the '60 a little. No Suicide doors on that, but it's the best I can muster at the moment. Steve Edited October 17, 2014 by StevenGuthmiller

How about a Lincoln Continental Buildoff, and include the 58 through the '60 just for fun of course, and I can restore this bad boy.
StevenGuthmiller Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 (edited) My '60 is in pieces ready to be started. May have to do that soon. Here's my '61 waiting for restoration. Steve Edited October 26, 2014 by StevenGuthmiller
StevenGuthmiller Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 So, are we in???? I guess I'm game. As long as there aren't a bunch of goofy rules associated with it. And....no time limit. Got too many projects on the docket already! Steve
Porscheman Posted October 18, 2014 Author Posted October 18, 2014 Got my 69 Continental last night and it's a mint unbuilt kit and will start it Monday. I look forward to the challenge. Al
StevenGuthmiller Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 (edited) Got my '59 hardtop & a '63 convertible last night also. Got the pair for $25.00. My inclination is to do the '59 for our "build off", but if I do that it could be several months by the time I get my current batch of chrome back & then get another batch sent out & get that back! I guess if I join in, it will have to be my '60 hardtop. Steve Edited October 26, 2014 by StevenGuthmiller

StevenGuthmiller Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Let's say a year from now, and anything goes, as long as it is a Lincoln. Hey! I'll bet even I could stick to those rules! With all of the Lincolns I have laying around, I should be able to get one of them finished in that time frame. Maybe even sooner! Steve
Porscheman Posted October 19, 2014 Author Posted October 19, 2014 A whole year to finish. It's going to be tough. I usually build them in a week.

Porscheman Posted October 19, 2014 Author Posted October 19, 2014 C'mon Al! This is your dream car! take your time & blow us away!! Steve OK Steve but it'll kill me. Look!!!
StevenGuthmiller Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 OK Steve but it'll kill me. Look!!! No rules, remember? If you can't contain yourself, I guess an early entry would be ok. Steve
Jeremy Jon Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Nicely built, looks great! My neighbor had a black version of this car, with the huge opening suicide doors, cool!
Bob Ellis Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 I have the 1969 Continental as well. I was thinking Marylin Manson lowrider version?
ChrisBcritter Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 A year? That might be doable, knowing how I bounce from project to project (although three of my projects are Lincolns). Guess I'm in if you can live with my crummy photos...
