Harry P. Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Remember... don't post any hints or answers here. PM me with year, make, and model. The answer: 1924 Kissel Speedster
62rebel Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 easy to look at, too.... that's a pretty car.
horsepower Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Nope, definitely not a model, looks like it's ahead of it's time actually.
Pete J. Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Two seat open roadster. Room for two sets of golf clubs. Fast for its time. Flashy even today. What more could you ask for!
Harry P. Posted October 24, 2014 Author Posted October 24, 2014 This week's car is a 1924 Kissel Model 6-55 Speedster. Who got it right: wisdonm sjordan2 Draggon Pete J mr moto landman MikeMc otherunicorn jaymcminn Thom Jaguar man 21 62rebel horsepower peter31a
mr moto Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 That looks like a MODEL! I wish it was a kit!
Pete J. Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 This was definitely a "Hollywood" car in the ere. It is also know as the Gold Bug. Owners of the time: Amelia Earhart, Fatty Arbuckle, Douglas Fairbanks, etc. Very nice classic. http://www.forneymuseum.org/FE_AmeliaEarhartGoldBug.html
horsepower Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 (edited) When I first saw it, I thought it was Amelia Earhart's, but when I found a picture of hers the wheels were the wrong color and after doing some "sleuthing" (imagine that, me actually doing work!) I also discovered that this one's a different year. :-) Edited October 24, 2014 by horsepower
Harry P. Posted October 24, 2014 Author Posted October 24, 2014 It can't be a model... it has a rear-view mirror!

There a number of iterations of this particular car. I suppose the people who owned them could afford from custom coach work. I also noticed that a lot of them have porthole windows on the side of the top.
Harry P. Posted October 24, 2014 Author Posted October 24, 2014 I wish there was a model of this car available.

I also noticed that a lot of them have porthole windows on the side of the top. This particular car is nicknamed "Bugsby" and is owned by Lynn Kissel -- no relation. His work on the car can be seen here... http://www.concoursstudios.com/freelance-writing/kissel-kar Edited October 27, 2014 by sjordan2
