ferrarijoe Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Started Tamiya's Re20 1/12 F1 car. Just doing a quick box build. I think my Yellow is off ,i used wicked yellow for it.
ferrarijoe Posted October 28, 2014 Author Posted October 28, 2014 Have the motor and turbos pretty much done.
jrherald420 Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Makes me wish i would have kept my kit! The engine and inner coolers are screaming for a dark wash!
Nacho Z Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Joe, what can you tell us about the harness. Is it from the kit? Aftermarket? The model is coming along nicely!
ferrarijoe Posted October 30, 2014 Author Posted October 30, 2014 Nacho harness is in kit. Standard Tamiya cloth sticker harness. Not adding anything to kit except paint and glue. Just felt like doing something easy. Not liking the yellow at all think I will strip it and respray. The panels I have on already put on just pop off. One of the great things about 1/12 scale lots of it bolt togther. The tolerance of the parts is tight had to open up a few holes. And since this is an original release kit the tubing has been in rolls and dose not want to cooperate.

Mine kinked and/or split. I bought some after market tubing for my JPS. Good luck with the body panels. Once again, had the same problem. Your drivetrain is looking really good, (O.K. that sounded odd.)
Randy D Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 Hi Joe, Really nice build & paint work, looking forward to more progress. Randy
imatt88 Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Sweet!!! I can relate to the clear tubing.. PITA . I'm working on Tamiya's Ferrari 312B, and the tubing is so old, its pretty much useless. I've set the motor aside until I figure out what to do. . Great work, Cheers, Ian
ferrarijoe Posted November 12, 2014 Author Posted November 12, 2014 Small update the yellow was driving me crazy the shade wasn't right. So to the purple pond it went then painted it with right shade. Working decals now. after repaint
ferrarijoe Posted November 12, 2014 Author Posted November 12, 2014 moving along now. I like how the ground effects actually move on this model. I didn't worry about ejector pin marks on under tray since radiators and inter coolers cover them.
imatt88 Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Great job! What yellow did you end up using?
ferrarijoe Posted December 13, 2014 Author Posted December 13, 2014 Used tamiya ts-16. It is finished and in underglass section now.
