3gear Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 I love this body style Chevy Pickup. My favorite!!!! This was a simple out of the box build, other than the wheels / tires. It was my first attempt using desoldering wire to mimic steel braided hose in the engine, and learning blackwash. That is the only detail work in the engine... I like how the grill, air cleaner and door seams worked out with the blackwash. THe cowl air intake not so much.
randx0 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Cool truck . washes are a great technique , sometimes black isn't always the way to go . You can also darken the body color or lighten depending on the situation . not saying this would be the case here but just try it out . I like this model it builds up great another technique to try on this one would be to sand the back of the grille to open up the teeth .
chunkypeanutbutter Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 X2 on opening the grille. I did that with mine and it looks 1000 times better.
Danno Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 Nice. Try the opening-the-grille-by-sanding-from-the-back trick. It looks great!
