Erik Smith Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 What? That's cool and I was just wondering if that concept would work trying to build a sleeper but with performance tires...anything's possible I guess.
Lownslow Posted November 8, 2014 Author Posted November 8, 2014 Now that's awesome where did you find this? Sema updates
Mike 1017 Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 I have seen some high end builds in Street Rodder that have these white wall wheels. Very Kool
Snake45 Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 If you can paint 'em white, I don't see why you couldn't paint (or powder-coat) 'em black. New performance with old-school looks and attitude. This is definitely my New Favorite Idea of the Day!
Deathgoblin Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 I like! The look of a white wall with the performance of a low profile tire.
Tonioseven Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 Kindig-it designs did that with Apollo Ohno's Caddy.
southpier Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 it's been done http://www.kitfoster.com/carport/2006/01/port-o-walls/
Lownslow Posted November 8, 2014 Author Posted November 8, 2014 it's been done http://www.kitfoster.com/carport/2006/01/port-o-walls/ thats a 20" wheel that looks like a 15" after paint
espo Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 I'm afraid I'm old enough to remember these. We had something like it on our new '49 Ford. They were made of some type of plastic that went on like a hub cap that clipped onto the outer edge of the wheel. White wall tires were very expensive after WW II, and this was a way to get the look without the expense.
Maindrian Pace Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 I've been wondering why someone didn't do this for years now.
