Carmak Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 My votes for the Chrysler would "Turbine Bronze" or code ZZ1 "Citron Gold" which is more of a light green. I had a 68 300 Turbine Bronze with a black top and a white interior - super sharp Currently have a 66 Newport in Citron Gold with a black top and a tri-tone green interior.
Porscheman Posted November 12, 2014 Author Posted November 12, 2014 Ok, I decided on Spice Gold Poly for the Chrysler, with a black vinyl top and with interior. After seeing all these beautiful builds above, the only color I didn't see was gold. Thanks Al
StevenGuthmiller Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 (edited) This is the only pic I could find of a '67 Chrysler 300 in Spice Gold. (I really didn't look that hard ) Should give you an idea of how it will look on the car at least. Note the '68 style hubcaps. I believe they were much more common than the '66 style. Porscheman Posted November 14, 2014 Author Posted November 14, 2014 Thanks Steve. I'm using a Dupli-Color Ford color thatis almost an exact match.
StevenGuthmiller Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Thanks Steve. I'm using a Dupli-Color Ford color thatis almost an exact match. Shouldn't be a tough one, it's pretty much just........Gold!! Steve
Porscheman Posted November 15, 2014 Author Posted November 15, 2014 I finished the Edsel in a long build for me, ine 3 days. I painted it Krylon turquoise with Tamiya's ptimer white for the body and seat inserts and finished it off with 3 coats of Testors wetlook clear. 3 very light coat of Tamiya's clear blue was applied to the windshield to give it a nice tint. I waited a long time to find a clean 59 Edsel and I think the wait was worth it. I'm still waiting on the fender ornimates from The Modelhaus. Thanks for looking. Al

You're gonna have a heart attack or something!! Very nice job but you're going to have to quit the hobby in a couple of years! You'll have built "EVERYTHING"!! Steve
Sixties Sam Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 The Edsel is sweet! Nice job on restoring it! Sam
W-409 Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 That Edsel turned out really nice. Excellent work on the paint work and foiling, and the clean assembly looks very good too. It is a beautiful body style for sure. I bought one of those (Mine is HT version though) a while back and it is a good looking kit overall. I can't wait to start mine, hopefully it'll turn half as nice as this! How about some outside pics, BTW? I think your builds looked better when you posted outside shots. I mean it looks very good in these pics too, but it might look even better outside?
