jjsipes Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Awesome. Always liked to Comet that Ronnie drove be it the white or the Red white and blue versions. I did the same thing with mine using the Thunderbolt chassis and engine. Looks great.
moparfarmer Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Tony....Very nice job on the Comet..Don't worry about the red looking bloched, most reds on my computer and others I've seen look blotched..Nice job like I said before...
Codi Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Nice choice for a build and well executed Tony. I loved that period of drag racing. Congrats. Tim
T-Bolt427 Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Just curious.......Did you use the Comet or T-Bolt interior tub? I've stalled my build of Dyno Don's Comet because the T-Bolt's tub is too tall and forces the floor pan down and the Comet's tub's (if I remember correctly) tranny tunnel didn't match up well.
Craig Irwin Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 (edited) Nice! I'd like to build the same car, Edited December 21, 2014 by Craig Irwin
bogger44 Posted December 24, 2014 Author Posted December 24, 2014 (edited) Thanks again for the comments guys. Just curious.......Did you use the Comet or T-Bolt interior tub? I've stalled my build of Dyno Don's Comet because the T-Bolt's tub is too tall and forces the floor pan down and the Comet's tub's (if I remember correctly) tranny tunnel didn't match up well. I used the Comet tub. The transmission doesn't fit the Comet's trans tunnel well and will push the chassis down, so I trimmed off some of the transmission top until it fit properly. It took a fair bit, but is unnoticeable after final assembly. Also, since the Comet tub is shorter than the T-bolt's, it will leave an open gap between the firewall and interior tub. I had thought about filling it in with some Evergreen, but I decided to leave it as is. With everything painted black, it really isn't that noticeable anyways. Edited December 24, 2014 by bogger44
Burnout Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Wow, I'm not sure how I missed this one until now but that is really nice. I appreciate all the work it takes to build a replica when you've got to kitbash to get there. You did a really nice job. Congrats!
