It is in very good shape- nothing more than minor surface rust, a few dents in the roof (no doubt caused by somebody walking on it) and a tent/tear in the driver's side headlight bezel. Odometer shows just over 66,000 miles- as far as I can tell that's actual. Hasn't run since about 2002.

Wow, sounds like it would make a good candidate for a restoration. Nice old girl

Well, I don't really like too, considering the danger of it, but sometimes you just got too! (Still dangerous though)

Cool thing was, the door was letter just like bj's only with the guys own name on the side, it was spot on!

Chuck, what did ya drag home??

Nothin'. The tire shop dragged over some tires for the G1000, but for the time being I'm not dragging home anymore mechanical carcasses until I've made some progress on the ones I already have laying around.

To that end, the G1000 now moves under its own power for the first time in about 20 years, and has good rear tires. Next thing will be knocking off that Full Vision cab and finding some proper factory MM fenders.

For a so called "plastic truck" I have to say that looks pretty sharp.

As for that Datsun/Nissan 720, you never got to see mine. I miss her ALOT.

I don't have most of the pics on my computer anymore but thankfully they are available online. about.com actually asked if they could use them for one of their articles. Of course I said YES!

Here are some shots of how she looked after I got her and put the first set of tires on.(I did the blue tint on the windows)

After I got the second set and had her for awhile.

Stumbling across your pictures here brought up some fond memories of a friend of mine's Nissan 720/D21 "Hard Body" I believe it was an 85 either way it was in that transition period where it had some of the early quad headlight/grill 720 styling and later D21 bed without rope hooks. FYI the grill was gone in favor of a home built bumper/grill guard heavy enough for hitting deer and small trees at speed. Anyways I don't have any pictures of it but I have video of it from our high school days out mudding. I had (still have) a 1977 AMC Jeep CJ5 "Golden Eagle" at the time. Here is some screen shots.

Gone are the days that you can buy these in running condition for $300. My friend still has this but it has been put out to pasture. The constant ingestion of water and mud through the intake and fuel system (too cheap to buy a gas cap when a t-shirt rag would do) eventually ended the engine. He got 15 years of service out of it as a 2nd owner. It was beaten pretty badly when he got it.

You can see it lived on a steady diet of water and mud here. lol

Eventually the rear diff would be welded for traction. No worries of breaking it as that little Z24 couldn't break out of a paper bag.

Love all the photos. I too have a habit of snapping some photos of cool old trucks.

Saw this in Bishop CA a few years ago.
