TheCat Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Hello everyone. Well, here's something out of my comfort zone. I normally don't build Big Rigs, but I wanted to give it try but with a twist. Here's my Revell Peterbilt 359 Conventional Big Rig. This is my first 1:25 truck I've built. Wanted to build it as a semi-custom truck. As, I'm a BIG 49ers fan, I've built a Big Rig that a 49ers Truck Driver would love to drive around in. Let me know what you think of my first 1:25 Truck build. Enjoy the pictures. Things done: Hand painted the gold on all the chrome. Had custom decals created by Aftermath Decals Detailed the engine (somewhat) NOTE the plates. As an extra touch, I placed the plates of each states of the NFC West Division.
slusher Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Man, that is so cool and impressive build Felix. I love it. Very creative..
kilrathy10 Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 (edited) That's a pretty cool looking build....The gold painted chrome is what stands out the most....And the decals are wonderful.....That is very well done....Very well done.....Good job on this kit... I hope you continue to build big rigs.....I know I was hooked after my first "Italeri" kit...... Keep in mind, though....This Pete 359 is an entry level kit.....They are, for the most part, much more challenging......Don't want to scare you.....Just giving you a "heads up".... This is one of the better builds I've seen of this model, so you're on the right track..... Edited December 10, 2014 by kilrathy10
Outlaw_Pitbull_0411 Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 How bout those seahawks maybe you should rebuild it blue and neon green call it beast mode lol jk...go hawks
72 Charger Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Wow that grabs your attention .Felix what did you use to do your gold chrome ? It looks like tamiya clear yellow?
TheCat Posted December 18, 2014 Author Posted December 18, 2014 Wow that grabs your attention .Felix what did you use to do your gold chrome ? It looks like tamiya clear yellow? Hi Dave... Yup it is Tamiya Clear Yellow. Hand brushed onto the Chrome.
TheCat Posted December 18, 2014 Author Posted December 18, 2014 Thank you everyone for the kind words. It was a fun build. Something different than what I normally build (Muscle Cars, Imports, etc.).
fantacmet Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 While I'm not a 49er's fan(no offense I'm not an anythign fan Id on't like football), this is a truly original customer build and really does look like something someone would actually do to their personal rig. If I gave 2 farts about football(or any other sport for that matter), I'd probably do something like this.
Monty Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 (edited) Duuuuude, all that 49er stuff and you still missed the most obvious thing: change the "49ERS-1" plates registration from California to....Montana! Edited January 15, 2015 by Monty
christian-w Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Never thought that the clear yellow would give such a golden look! Used it sometimes for carburetors or alternators but never thought about gold-plating chrome! That's an awesome thing!
