Good work everyone.  I thought I was cutting it fine but some of you guys...

The Citation is pretty much at the stage where I could button it up and call it done.  Needs a box of doughnuts installing in the cabin and some rust, dust & dirt adding but it's all there and i should be at the start line as long as I don't break something putting the body on.

What exactly is this thread? I'm not sure I understand...........wild build ups or? Some interesting builds going on thats for sure!!!!!!!

Go to the first page and read the first post. There is a Cannonball Community Build here every year and they usually have a theme.

Next years race will start Jan 1. The theme is yet to be decided. After this one ends on December 2, TFchronos (who will be running next years Cannonball) will put up a poll thread and we can decide on our theme. Hope to see you John.

Interior done.

Body in paint. Krylon came through with a color dang close to stock, almost exactly as I envisioned it. Sort of a silvery champaign color. Looks rather gold in this photo though. Can't wait for the woody veneer.

Gotta post,... sleep is calling...

And now,..the interior

                                                                                     (crickets chirping)

It can Go , but can it stop!?!...not yet

Cheers

Dang that interior looks clean Mike.

I've installed a box of doughnuts in the Citation and now the body, interior and chassis are permanently mated.  A last minute change of wheels has delayed things slightly but it's worth it as everything looks better with slot mags.  Obviously they'll be hidden behind hub caps but i'll know they're there. The previous wheel selection were just too tall.

Paint touch ups, mirrors, rear lights and weathering and it'll be done.

Of course I could always drop it...

Very nice work Mike and Bruce. Very clever use of beads Bruce.

I scraped the supercharger, after looking intensively at 1:1 I realized I made mine to big and for sake of accuracy I decided to not use it and put the stock manifold back on. Painted flat back to imply it's an aftermarket upgraded version. I also realized the kit doesn't have a battery with it so I'm scratching a racing battery for it. Got some plumbing done to the engine it's almost ready to mount. The front half of the interior is also done a ready to drop in. I'll build in the back half later tonight.

Agree, some serious activity to meet the deadline !

Like the Impala Bruce, never tried the beads for headlight globes...I just drill a hole instead, looks the part.....in some ways ;)

Things are heating up ... some great work going on madly in all these shops to make the deadline!

Okay we got 12 completed builds in the Completed Builds thread and it looks like at least four more nearing completion. It's going to be a banner year. I advise everyone to look over their entry and make sure all info they want the voters to know about the build is there.

I have no idea if Wagonmaster will be around to do the race poll. If I don't hear from him, I'll try to get it done on the 2nd. Because of the number of people entered and the nature of the poll function here, we're going to have a semi-finals poll (left up for about a week) and a finals poll (left up for another week) to figure out our winner. It's a bit drawn out but it is what it is. I've asked Gregg to change the poll function to allow more slots per question, but with only the Cannonball folks asking for the change, he doesn't see a reason to do so, and from his perspective I agree. We'll make the best of it.

Our field so far. These are the groups that will be competing in the semis.

Group 1

1. Helix - Dodge Ram 50

2. Christian-W - Mini Cooper

3. Dominik - VW Beetle

4. Rotorbolt73 - '76 Chevy Caprise

5. Jantrix - '77 AMC Pacer Wagon

Group 2

1. Chunkypeanutbutter - '76 International Harvester Scout II

2. Drag Freak - '64 Ford Fairlane

3. Vekasiini - Delahaye 135

4. Foxer - Ferrari 250 GTO

5. Pat Minarick - Smart

Group 3 - (so far)

1. Wrecker388 '92 Mercury Cougar

2. DeeCee '40 Ford Sedan Delivery

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Counting today we have SIX days left.

This may have been discussed before, I don't recall, but I wonder if it would be more equitable to have only one vote with "None of the above" as an option for the groups and instructions to vote for one model only. The rest of the groups get "none of the above."  I could prepare thumbnails too to aid in choosing rather than ask voters to shuttle over to the other thread. Something like this. It would be more presentable than this but you get the idea.

Group 1

2. Christian-W - Mini Cooper Christian-W_zpsbavzwjhh.jpg

3. Dominik - VW Beetle Dominik_zpsw1o9zyjs.jpg

4. Rotorbolt73 - '76 Chevy Caprice Rotorbolt73_zpsrdjsnqfe.jpg

5. None of the above

Group 2

1. Jantrix - '77 AMC Pacer Wagon

2. Chunkypeanutbutter - '76 International Harvester Scout II

3. Drag Freak - '64 Ford Fairlane

4. Vekasiini - Delahaye 135

5. None of the Above

That seems like a good idea for voting. The concise list with thumbnail will make voting easier once you go thru the main post with the runners.

Agreed....

And we are in groups because,..why? Misseed that memo...lol

The mechanics of the poll software allows only five choices per question. So the choices have to be grouped. It would be nice if there could be one question with unlimited choices but per Jantrix, Gregg won't change the program just for our CBP.
