For me and friends 2014 was a rough year. Several people I know had family medical problems. I had a heart attack in August that was a huge wake up call. Lots of lifestyle changes and I have been doing a lot better. Losing 30 pounds has helped and I'm hoping to lose another 20.

The IPMS model club had the hobby shop close that we used for our meetings. We found another place to have meetings and then lost the usage of that facility. Fortunately the third time was the charm for us.

On the positive side on the weather we have had some good rain so far however a friend had some flooding in the last big storm.

Definitely hoping that 2015 will have less drama. Looking forward to getting a lot more modeling done for 2015 since I retired this year.

What are others experiences with 2014 and expectations for 2015.

2014 has been up and down for me with some good times, and some not so good. As far as models go, I only finished two this year, and have two more that are close. Of course I had a busy summer this year with car shows, cruise nights, drag strips, vacation, etc.Hopefully next year (2015) I'll get more models completed. I have been "thinning out the herd" lately and my buying new kits have been very limited, as I'll never finish all I already have. Sound familiar???

I'll also be glad to put 2014 to bed. The handbrake got diverticulitus in January and it took almost all year and 2 different hospitals to take care of her. All is good now.

had an average one it must be said....but got the doctor to change my meds so i'm not a miserable basterd all the time and lost over 20lb....then mrs spotty thought i must be having an affair because i was happy and losing weight .....hopefully got her straightened out so lets ee what this next year brings....could do with a new motorbike though, anyone got a spare hayabusa?

on the plus side, just found a local liquor store that sells my favourite brand of cider tonight so it can't all be bad can it?

Mostly good for me.

Family members health is good overall, though I did lose my brother in law. He beat the odds what with his ongoing issues. My sister rebounded well and is quite healthy.

Kids are doing well in school. The middle one, son, just acquired a Masters, the baby is close to her Bachelors, both in nursing.

The oldest is a year closer to retirement in the PD.

I got promoted and received a handsome raise thanks to the new administration.

Bought a new treadmill, down 7 lbs. in week one.

I'm not complaining, but it ain't over yet.

This year I really reflected back on other years past. I remembered back when we all lived in a for room apartment in the late 60's. Mom and dad, 2 brother a sister and grandmother and me. Climbing over my brother to watch cartoons on a black and white 19 inch tv. I was 4. Since past lost Dad, and grandmother and everyone is here and there.

I try to enjoy each day the best I can and hate to see the years rush by. Every day and year seem to have its blessing and tragedies. I plan on going and seeing my grand children and son in Alabama this summer. I also want to go to Chicago this summer with my family if its Gods will...

Every day is an adventure. My wife and I are attempting to quit smoking and are using electronic cigarettes. We cheat now and then but we're not smoking anywhere near what we were. I got new dentures that finally fit right after 3 trips back to the dentist for adjustments. I had the cataract removed from my left eye and now I see great out of it. I've lost about 20 lbs. due to portion control and water pills to eliminate swelling in my left leg.

In 2015 I'll have the cataract in my right eye taken care of, and will hopefully continue to lose more weight. As long as I keep opening my eyes each morning...... it's a good day.

My best 2014 experience was the 50th Mustang B-Day party in Charlotte NC. Had a great time. Only thing I'm looking forward to in 2015 is moving out of the crappy neighborhood I live in now to a better place and closer to work.

2014...

The loss of a very good friend under what are suspicious circumstances in July was definitely the low point. The investigation is still ongoing, mostly due to a horrific backlog at the MSP Crime Lab.

Three friends from high school lost parents this year, and I'm actually finishing getting ready to go to one of the wakes now. The good news is that will probably be the last one this year.

Laid up for a lot of last winter with sciatica. No fun at all, and my leg still isn't working quite the way it should be. I've been trying to walk a bit to get things working right again and lose some of the weight I put on as a result. Mixed results, but it's what I can do for right now.

My work opportunities have still been rather limited, and the driver's ed. job I accepted is not working well at all.

That said, I do have a few promising things for 2015, so I'm hopeful next year will be an improvement.

2014 was better than 2013, mainly because I've been employed! In that respect it's been a good year. Healthwise, we've been good. We had the best ever NNL East and hope to top that in 2015. I worked on models pretty consistently this year, finishing 2 or 3, while adding a significant amount to my unfinished project pile. This fall we got our roof and siding replaced by insurance, due to hail damage from this past spring. So the house looks pretty darn good! And we recently bought a nice low mile Buick LaCrosse. On a sad note we lost clubmate and long time friend Todd Koncsol over the summer. He was our club artist, and we are struggling to fill the void he has left. This fall we lost our dog Ted, and that has left our house very quiet. I miss him every day!

We go forward to 2015 with promise of employment for the year, and ready for anything that hits us. As you can see we had a few surprises in 2014 and hope this will be a better year.

Well, I now know what "over the hill" really means. I got back in touch with all the Moonlight guys this year, and illness kept me from the majority of the meetings ..ratz.

I'm keeping a stiff upper lip. Hopefully '15 will mean better health. Got several fun builds goin', Got a Wife who digs me. Life is good, after all.
