mikemodeler Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Yep Al, with the rising costs at Fed Ex and UPS, people are using the USPS and they have been overloaded. A friend works at a sorting center and he said it has been the craziest he has ever seen it.
disabled modeler Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Yep that is the package I sent to Al....it got crushed and is now missing parts as well...so much for trying?
slantasaurus Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Rule 1. DON'T mail packages after 11/31 November 31 ???
Danno Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Letter carrier here said FedEx and UPS got so expensive that Amazon was shipping a lot of packages via USPS, so the postal service was swamped with Amazon orders in addition to usual Christmas rush.
DrGlueblob Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 I get around 20 packages a month from Amazon, and most all come by USPS.
Ben Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Pretty disgusting that you can't send anything any more without some lazy, non caring worker throwing your package, kicking it around! You put "Fragile" on it and they do it just for spite! Insurance is a joke!! It could look like a dozer ran the box over and USPS will still fight you on it! Funny how fuel prices have been dropping for while now but shipping prices keep increasing! Sounds like plain old greed to me!
Toner283 Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Yep that is the package I sent to Al....it got crushed and is now missing parts as well...so much for trying? When I send an unsealed opened kit I always try and put the parts inside the box in a ziplock bag. I have found this to be cheap insurance against them tearing the box open in transit and losing small parts. just a tip for the future.
Tom Geiger Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 The week before Christmas I ordered a pair of headlights for my Caravan, and a set of bulbs from a different vendor. The bulbs came via USPS Priority Mail from California to Pennsylvania within 24 hours! Then I found the headlights sitting out next to my garage door, delivered FedEx Ground from Virginia to PA, again within 24 hours. I can't fault either service.
Petetrucker07 Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 I sent out 5 packages, 3 padded envelopes and 2 boxes. I went to a postal "satellite" office out of convenience. I sent them out out on a saturday and a week and half later, they showed up on my door step with no explanation, no reason of return to sender, so stamp, no nothing. They are addressed and marked properly. Its very aggravating when you pay for service and this is what happens. Now, since these were for trades and what not, it makes me look like the jerk.
thatz4u Posted December 28, 2014 Author Posted December 28, 2014 slantasaurus, I used a calender that I got from the Post Office, LOL, I corrected the error, thanks
