Just curious. My Meng F350 kit that was a Christmas present arrived today. So many ideas are flowing through my mind as to the possibilities. I am considering cutting down the crew cab to a regular cab. Wondering if anyone has done this yet. I don't expect that it would be difficult to do, just looking to see what others have done. Thanks in advance!

I haven't made a regular cab from this particular kit yet, but it's pretty much the same process no matter what the kit. All you'd need to do is cut out the rear doors and the same amount from the roof, and bring the cab wall forward, with the interior floor and side panels cut to match. Also- this being a late model Super Duty- remove the ribs from the roof- regular cabs don't have them.

Do they even sell regular cabs any more?

Learn something new every day! I don't think I've seen a regular cab-anything for months . . . or years. Certainly not new ones. (Other than utility company fleets.)

IIRC, a regular cab is cheaper to insure than an extended or crew cab due to the number of passengers the vehicle can carry. You are correct Danno that fleets and municipalities probably make up the majority of the buyers.

Back on topic, I would be interested in a resin standard cab for one of my Meng kits.
