I prefer to upload pics from my PC since I don't have a website or a photobucket, etc, account and don't care to get one. Every time I post pics, my "You can upload up to XX.XXKB of files" number gets lower and lower. Now it's to the point I pretty much can't upload any more pics (limit of 39.46KB now).

Is there something I can do to continue uploading pics from my PC?

Yes, you have two choices

A. Delete photos you have so you can upload more

B. Get a photo sharing site account like Photobucket

Other than that, there is not much else you can do, the only option is if the forum gives you more storage space, but that is not going to happen.

Go to the top right hand corner of the page & click on your name. Then click on "My Settings". In the left hand column of the page that comes up, you'll see "Manage Attachments". Click on that & you'll be able to see all of the pics you have posted. Click on the boxes to check & then click on "Delete Selected" to delete which ever ones you care to get rid of. Then go get a Photobucket account. :D Steve

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll do a photobucket or netimages account if I need to. I'd hate to delete images. I just wanted to make sure that's what I really needed to do before I did it.

thanks!.

I just created a netimages account. Figured I'd test it here...

Hmmmm.... says "not allowed to use that image extension on this community"...

what am I doing wrong, Lee?

It is best to have a photo account like Photo Bucket or Fotki. If you store photos on this site, then delete them when you run out of room, then the posts you have written all have blanks where your photos were. Remember that posts here live on forever, and it's frustrating to look at a thread that goes back a few years and see all the missing pictures.

If you have a photo account, you can leave those photos in place forever, so your posts will always be complete. Even with an account, you need to remember not to delete photos, or even move them between albums, because that will also make the photos disappear from your posts.

It is good to have a photo account anyway. I have a Fotki account for over ten years. I have a paid account, which is well worth the fee, where I keep all kinds of photos. It's great to be able to create an album of your Christmas photos and send all your relatives a link to view them. We do that kind of thing a lot.

One thing that I do occasionally is after a build is finished & is no longer of interest to anybody, I delete the photos & replace them with a link to my Fotki account. That way I open up space for down loading new pics & still leave photos for anyone who wants t go back to see something. Steve

Glad I could help Rob. I really like myNetImages. The only issue I have is I have to open MCM in Chrome. IE 11 won't let me copy and paste to MCM.

I keep all my build photos in their own albums on my Fotki account. I have two folders, one for finished models, and one for unfinished, in progress models. Before I posted here, I would move the album from my unfinished to my finished folder. Now I have copied it to the finished folder, then went into my threads and posted new photo links prior to deleting the unfinished project folder. Check out how I place these in the folder below:

This site only allows a very small amount of space to upload images directly from your computer, because this site is NOT meant to be a photo hosting site. Can you imagine the amount of storage space we would need if this site hosted all of the photos we constantly post here?

The right way to do it it to open a photo hosting account, like Photobucket. Photo hosting sites are designed to do just that... host (or store) your images on their servers. Load all your images into albums on your photo hosting site, then you post the link to your photois here in your posts, not the actual photo. The photo stays parked on your photo hosting site's server, taking up their space, yet we can still see the image here in your posts because you posted the link to the image here, not the image itself.

I have used Photobucket for many years, have hundreds (maybe thousands) of photos posted there, and still am at only 18% of my FREE account capacity.

Thats not bad, I was curious how many photos it would take to use all the free storage you get from the free accounts.

Is it me but Photobucket acts up from time to time?

I hear alot about that issue. Never had ANY problems with myNetImages.

yes it does seem photobucket does act dumb once in awile.......

If Photobucket "acts dumb" the odds are the problem is your web browser, not PB.
