Mike 1017 Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Did any of the Ford Galaxie kits come with a 427 SOHC engine? Thanks Mike
10thumbs Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Hi Mike, I'm not an expert, but I kind of doubt it. The SOHC was a race motor. Limited edition type. I don't think NASCAR Fords were ever was able to use them, so I can't imagine another possibility for a Galaxy / SOHC combination. Do you just need a SOHC motor?
MeatMan Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 None were factory installed but there were dealers that would do it and it was rumored that a few existed. Check this story out. http://www.hotrod.com/cars/featured/ccrp-1004-1962-ford-galaxie/
Guest Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 The AMT '66 Galaxie has the 427 cammer as an optional engine. I have the kit.
Snake45 Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 The AMT '66 Galaxie has the 427 cammer as an optional engine. I have the kit. I'm pretty sure the '69 did too. I'll try to remember to look at it later.
Monty Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 What engines are in the '65 Galaxie and '68 Shelby?

Snake45 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 doesn't the 69 torino come with it also? Maybe, maybe not, but the question was what Galaxie kits had it.
MeatMan Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Whoops, didn't pay attention to the question. I was thinking 1:1.
tubbs Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Maybe, maybe not, but the question was what Galaxie kits had it. really.....nothing wrong with a little more info than what he needs.
