TedsModeling Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Jeff - It all looks so awesome. Those throttle bodies are excellent and you mentioned they were scaled after the real thing - great research work. Is the engine modeled after a specific Sonny's engine? If so, how do you get your measurements from them? Is that very first photo a pic of the valve covers?
Erik548 Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 "57 chevy" and "drag week" is this gonna be evil twin?
jeff f Posted February 9, 2015 Author Posted February 9, 2015 Greetings I've been trying to fab a 4 stage oil pump. Three tries later I'm as close as I'll get.
jeff f Posted February 10, 2015 Author Posted February 10, 2015 Today I finished the mounting blocks.)
Jim3 Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Parts look awesome... that's some nice building...
gasser59 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Some amazing scratchbuilding going on here. I don't think you're just dabbling..you sir are a master. Drooling all over my keyboard.
Nitrozilla Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Yeah, what the heck, we've got so many Master Builders here, what's one more thrown into the mix? Incredibly amazing awesome work going on there Jeff. Thanx for sharing and inspiring. And making hundreds jealous at the same time.
Mooneyzs Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Super impressed with your oil pump. That is some very nice work you are doing.
Randy D Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Hi Jeff, Welcome aboard Truly impressive machine work !!!!!!!!!! Randy
jeff f Posted February 17, 2015 Author Posted February 17, 2015 I made some progress over the weekend. A front cover,Jesel pulleys, and a damper. Just wondering, what wheelbase a TDR Chassis is??? Thanks for all the Comments,it sure helps keep the fire going.
Mooneyzs Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Jeff... nice progress on the engine. It is looking killer. I want to say that the TDR chassis wheel base is 115" but I am not positive the size they drew it up to. 115" is the max wheelbase for Pro Mods. if I am correct you are doing a Top Sportsman And I am not sure what the allowable wheel base is for them. I could check my NHRA rule book.
jeff f Posted February 17, 2015 Author Posted February 17, 2015 Many thanks Chris , a stock 57 has a 115" wheel base . I"m thinking aTDR starting point . Also leaning towards a strip only car. Thanks again Jeff.
gasser59 Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 OK Jeff, we've been patient long enough for some progress updates on this beast. Any more of your mad skills on this one?

gasser59 Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Those are things of beauty. You're just a big tease, aren't you??
Red rocket 10 Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 They look great Jeff.............can't wait to see more. Leonard
jeff f Posted December 4, 2015 Author Posted December 4, 2015 A while back I worked on a Moroso vaccumn pump. Little bit at a time .
futurattraction Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 (edited) Really nice job on the struts and vacuum pump components! If you don't mind my asking, where did you get the springs and what are their dimensions? Edited December 4, 2015 by futurattraction
jeff f Posted December 5, 2015 Author Posted December 5, 2015 Not at all Scott , I make due with what I can get my hands on. In this case I used .016 safety wire wound around a drill blank . Can I get an 82 Glidden fairmont and decals from you ? I saw him many times at S.I.R.Jeff
futurattraction Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Thanks for the info Jeff. You did an outstanding job on your springs. I thought they looked commercially made! And yes, I'd be happy to get a Fairmont to you with Glidden decals. I'm waiting on an order from Chuck, so I'll let you know when they're in... Scott
