  1. I left more paint in my paint tray than I put on the jeep
  2. Resin 1:160 1941 Ford Coe with a scratch built wood flatbed, the wood deck was cut on a silhouette cutter, and the bracing on the bottom was scratch built with. 010x.020 styrene
  3. 1:160 1949 jeep woody finished up, I made it a restoration project with a chipped up blue junkyard hood, and a new fender still in the black gelcoat. And yes it's sitting on a nickel.
  4. Pretty much done, just need to fix or replace the windshield Sorry for the bad pics, my phone can't focus that small
  5. I needed something for the ipms model of the month Contest tomorrow night, so I decided to throw something together quick, a 1:160 rambler dragster
  6. I picked up a 1:160th resin 1968 f850 cab at a show a few months ago and finally decided to start working on it
  7. its worth it, and it can even function as a full working computer... all for $5 https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/raspberry-pi-zero/ http://www.microcenter.com/product/457746/Raspberry_Pi_Zero
  8. just posting an idea since alot has changed since 2011, go buy yourself a raspberry pi zero for $5 hook each of the LEDs to an output and it can all be done in software without complicated wiring
  9. think hes going for this http://www.roadkill.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/blasphemi.jpg
  10. im not hijacking the thread, he said hes coming back to modeling so i told him what generation of the kit is the best to by and why, so he doesn't get discouraged after waiting for it to be repoped only to find a ton of flash and warped parts true, but this is modelcarsmag so as far as the general population of this forum is, its just repops i stand by my original statement Ferbz is coming back into the hobby after 10+ years, his skills are rusty, the nicer kit he starts with, the nicer his end model will be, so until he builds up his skill set again go with a late 90s early 2000 pre round 2 version, once hes back on his feet and his skills are back... well mythbusters did prove you can polish a turd anyone who says otherwise is part of the reason the modeling hobby is dying off. tell him the best version to start with get him back into the hobby (like i did) and he will spend far more money with AMT/round2 later, than if he waited for a repop, and got discouraged and left the hobby again after only buying one kit. once we get him back into the hobby spending money and enjoying it, then brett can keep his job, dave can get his trophy series kits and most importantly... Ferbz had a nice kit to start on to get him back into a hobby he will enjoy and can share it to the next generation and keep the hobby alive. back on track (i wont reply to anyone else on that topic) Ferbz you're getting back into the hobby start with the cleanest nicest version you can find, and just before round 2 is about the best
  11. amt got bought out by Round 2, round 2 is working on milking amt dry, so don't expect any new kits from them, just repops of old kits with more and more flash as time goes on at higher and higher prices, do your self a favor and find a older release of the kit (say late 90s early 00s) it will be cheaper and cleaner then waiting for it to be repoped
  12. one more thing, mikesdecals sells that kit without decals for $6 and keep in mind its his job, not like a swap meet, so he has some markup in it to make a profit. even at $6 its cheaper then a set of resin valve covers, or tranny http://www.mikesdecals.com/product_info.php?cPath=1_25&products_id=265
  13. yes it is a "vintage" kit but, atleast around me, you cant give them away, ive never spent more then $5 on a complete kit, (including a couple for free by going to a train swap meet) and its not like your pulling them out of the nascar modelers hands, during those years the market was flooded with NASCAR kits the manufacturers trying to make every car. and since except for the decals it was the same build (yes i know slightly different body and motor, but the BUILD was the same) they sold well but weren't built often. fast forward to today, the NASCAR modelers build them, but dont look for a specific kit because the decals are wrong they just look for say a 1989-93 thunderbird kit, toss the decals (because they are old and incorrect) and get the decals for the specific thunderbird they want to model from a site like mikesdecals. what im trying to say is yes it was made 20 some years ago but the market is still flooded with them. just a quick look on model roundup (because he stocks vintage kits) turned up 13 first gen mustang kits, now something like that is collectible because the different manufacturers and the different runs make the kits all slightly different on the inside and different builds. where a quick look turned up 18 different 89-93 thunderbirds that, excepts for the decals, are the same (and the nascar builders most of the time dont use anyway). so dont feel bad about cutting one up because that kit probably still more copies available then any other kit on the second hand market
  14. https://www.facebook.com/svensworldofwheels/posts/10153900669866062 just a little better link so people dont need to scroll though more and more of his timeline to get it as time goes on
  15. looks sick, cant wait to see it done, with your skill it will turn out amazing. can you sent a finish deadline of October 15th 2015 so it will be finished next week, two months late, and we all aren't waiting in suspense
  16. nope, just a roadkill fan, but a friends dragster was in it
  17. Gas monkey Garage, or fast n' loud lying cheating BLEEPing BLEEPholes destroying cars for a lame BLEEP TV show
  18. well the wheelbase on the real one is 135.5 inches (as long as Wikipedia is right) so1/24 5.64"1/25 5.42"1/32 4.23"i would guess 24th but ive never built it
  19. yes im with everyone, my vote is for 3 BUT, its going to use little from the kit, even the frame is greatly different, if you plan on using the revell kit, i would vote for #2, it looks almost spot on
