  1. after some time away from the bench i finally got some more bench time in i finished bracing the frame and put the floor pan in along with roughing in the mount for the rear mounted radiator. the seats are only place holders until i cut them up or find some that allow the drive shaft to pass through and i need to fully mount the fuel cell and everyone can let out a huge sigh of relief, ive decided not to use the LaSalle grill and to go with the old standby of a 32 ford grill.
  2. fill in the door and re scribe them in the front
  3. one thing i wish i would have learned along time ago, but i didnt untill i was at a train swapmeet (im mostly a model railroader) about 2 years ago watching my hackjobs fly off the table. no matter how poor your workmanship is, someone will be happy to have it because its better then what they can do. so then i realized just try it, if you have a modeling idea, just try it, even if you dont finish it. then if your not happy with it, bring it to a swap meet. and someone of lesser skill would LOVE to have a start on it because its not as scary as starting from scratch. TL;DR go to hobby lobby and pick up the resin casting kit and try it yourself, its a usefull skill to learn (your only what 39? you got a long time to enjoy that skill) and its not hard. then make a couple extra and post them on ebay or next time your at a swap meet throw a couple on your table some beginner would be happy to have a rough version that needs some finishing vs starting from scratch
  4. remember modeling has alot of older guys too, some of them take longer then 20 hours to remember how to turn on a computer
  5. so its October 27th, is it done yet? it looked great at Toledo, and it was nice meeting you. look forward to seeing it (finished?) again at detroit
  6. i thought that too, but like when i started into modeling, so i had no skills and tried to make rust with a soldering iron and i tried to scratch build a frame and my skills weren't there so it got shelved. anyway i saw that extra frame and figured it should be pulled out again and tried to finish it
  7. i got a little more work dont on the rat, got the frame and engine block in primer, did the first pass at weathering (many more to come to get the layered look) and im playing with the idea of using a model car garage 38 LaSalle grill, yes it doent look as good but im tired of 32 grills on everything.
  8. sorry, i was so tired last night i didnt notice how bad that picture was. but i did a little more work and finished Z'ing the frame time to start the suicide front end
  9. so after building the '29 model A i had an extra frame.... (how many times have we heard that one) im tired (its 12:28) so im gonna keep this short, i had the extra frame and i was itching to use it so i decided to start one more project, its a parts box build body: amt 33 willys frame: the pinched 32 ford frame i Zed the back not the front yet engine: firepower from the double dragster kit (dont worry its not gonna stay gold)
  10. im not sure, if i can find where i placed it i can tell you
  11. only some are, mine is molded in invisible because its not worth $20.90 to me
  12. Rustoleum 2x aluminum, not 1000% perfect but if you never build things showroom and wanna weather it, its dry enough to weather in 30 seconds
  13. if you have a problem seeing them, go to Australia, im sure they will look fine there
  14. erik548* and the trade with AL went great too, came packaged like it was a child not a model
