LSdominator Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 I started this one a few months ago. It will be slightly different than box stock, with a few added details. Going to start and make it as sleek and mean looking without Frankensteining the car. Just a nice low smooth custom
LSdominator Posted January 22, 2015 Author Posted January 22, 2015 I moved the hubs in the front up to lower the front end down and cut the springs away from the rear axle to add more plastic between the two to lowere the rear. Separated front bumper from grille. Cut down the center and removed 2mm and glued back together, then plastic filled the license plate and outer holes. Started adding brake lines hand made. I'm a po boy so most of my stuff is made not bought haha.
LSdominator Posted January 22, 2015 Author Posted January 22, 2015 More brake line work and checking fit and ride height
DeeCee Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Great bit of detail work there mate, I have this same kit on the bench at the moment, and I like it.
taaron76 Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Nice work! Looking forward to seeing it "Under Glass".
espo Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Great detail on the suspension. Really like the bumpers also. Will enjoy watching this.
LSdominator Posted January 23, 2015 Author Posted January 23, 2015 Thanks everyone. Dale, I'd like to see how your coronet is coming along if you have any pics yet
LSdominator Posted January 30, 2015 Author Posted January 30, 2015 Some update photos. Making some progress. I have been jumping around, working on different parts at the same time. I shaved the emblems off of the car and the door locks. I used a st of wheels I had from a c-10 build and modified them slightly to fit. Cut a hole in the hood for air cleaner. The hood is the stock hood from the 67 foose charger. Started modifying the rear bumper for a smoother, better fit
72 Charger Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 That's really nice .I like the break line work you did . Where did you get the T pieces for the front or did you make them?
LSdominator Posted January 31, 2015 Author Posted January 31, 2015 Thanks. And yes the T's I made as well
72 Charger Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Hi Emerson could you tell me please. How did you make them? :)Thanks Dave
LSdominator Posted January 31, 2015 Author Posted January 31, 2015 I used the same copper craft wire as the line. Coil wrapped it around one strand of wire to my desired length. Then I just glued a coil to the center of of one measured out again to my specs for the car. A little copper touch up paint hides the glue joint really we'll. would have been way easier to order some. But I'm a budget builder and can't afford to spend money on all that fancy stuff all of the time haha. I do enjoy the challenge of making things on my own anyways.
LSdominator Posted March 1, 2015 Author Posted March 1, 2015 Got some work done these past few weeks. The color is classic green pearl by duplicolor, and the roof, engine and interior are red oxide duplicolor as well. Three coats of clear over the green. Hope to hear the constructive criticism.
bill_67 Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Looks like you really nailed that ride height, the rims and tires are awesome.
66belair Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 The ride height is great. How much did you move the front spindles up on the front?
DeeCee Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 (edited) That is coming along great, that interior work is spot on too. Edited March 2, 2015 by DeeCee
LSdominator Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 I moved the spindle up just over 5 millimeters
LSdominator Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 Thanks. I just couldn't leave it at box stock height. It took some tinkering and the wheel choice made it sit just right
Lowlife ! ! Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Really nice job so far, love the new wheels.... Its good to hear your making your own stuff too, the details look spot on ! Nice to see this thing slammed a bit, look forward to more ! Lowlife ! !
LSdominator Posted March 7, 2015 Author Posted March 7, 2015 Some little updates. It's coming down to the detailed work and odds and ends to make it all come together. Got the grille mocked up and the window trim done. Painted up the battery. I will be adding positive and negative cables as well. I also got a few more engine wires done
