thatz4u Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 just checked their site & found this bit of good news...http://galaxielimited.com/products/1948-chevrolet-sedan-delivery
Longbox55 Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 That's not a Panel Truck, it's a Sedan Delivery.
Casey Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Have they reissued it in a new box or is it the same kit which has been available for 15+ years?
horsepower Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 same kit, just remaining stock, surprised that the Fleetline evidently sold out before the sedan delivery, but with the coupe coming soon maybe we'll get a new run of fastbacks since the body is the only difference.
1930fordpickup Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 I have checked this site before and the delivery was not listed for sale and the sedan was for sale. Makes me wonder if they just started to make more.
niteowl7710 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 It would make sense that since there is very little difference beyond the body parts that you would run off a whole slew of kits since you have the rest of the tooling out and being run.
pharoah Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 I wouldn't mind having one of those deliveries. A '48 Chevy pace car would be nice, too.
Motor City Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 The Indy Pace Car would be nice. Also, it would be cool to see a '48 Pontiac Streamliner or Torpedo 2-door fastback (GM called it a sedan-coupe).
thatz4u Posted January 29, 2015 Author Posted January 29, 2015 Rumor: Galaxie Ltd. had to work a deal will GM before selling any of the Chevies, anyone know for sure?
Casey Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Rumor: Galaxie Ltd. had to work a deal will GM before selling any of the Chevies, anyone know for sure? No rumor. Fact:
horsepower Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 After problems with some shady overseas operation making knockoff GM parts, and the ensuing nightmare GM had clearing its reputation, ANY GM product has to be cleared with the home office and rights to production granted. Unless you love spending time in courts and spending lots of money on lawyers. Check out the thread on the soon to be released '48 coupe from Galaxie to see how controlling the GM brass can be, and the kit itself had already been given a green light, the problem was a particular item in the box art.
