Model Cars Magazine Forum

Hi,

I got back into models a few years ago but mainly ships: plastic kits, then swithced to wood. I recently had the urge to tackle a car kit, and I'm glad I found this forum. Cars are definitely a different animal than ships. There are so many neat techniques I see here that can make these simple kits look beautiful. (i.e. flocking the carpet, and foiling the trim), I have zero experience with that. I intend to start with the following kit, but to make it look like the white camaro on the right, with tan interior. Hope to get some good ideas from painting & polishing the outer shell, to everything.

Thanks,

Dave

Welcome to the forum, Dave. Lot's of good info available here to get you over the rough spots.

Be sure to post some pix of your maritime models in the "All the Rest" area. We're always interested in seeing what people are building in other fields. I have a fairly large-scale wooden Skipjack I'm looking forward to getting to, maybe in the summer.

I do not get here often . The wooden boats caught my eye . I collect / build anything 1/25 and when I am forced to do so as the subject is only available (in) 1/24 .

I have a Dumas 1/24 Scale Chris Craft Sport . It will have a "warmed up with dual Carbs") '48 Lincoln V/12 . A family member had one equiped like this when I was young . It made an impression on me enough I am making a tribute build of it . Now it seems I'll be looking at All the Rest for some of your builds . . Welcome and Enjoy .

Welcome to the forum Dave as this is a great place to be. I started a Dumas Chris Craft Cobra boat many years ago and I really don't know if I'll ever finish it. I really should though as it is a beautiful boat.

Dear Dave,

Welcome to the forum. I hope you can enlighten us with your boat building skills. It is always interesting to incorporate other building techniques into the car and truck world and it makes us all better, people and modelers.
