I've attached a few pixs of a car I built a few years ago. It's done in an unusual color and features cloth insert upholstery. I got the scheme from a online registry for these cars and looked until I could find one with cloth (and not black, white or silver.) I don't remember the site but I'm sure it can be googled.

Wow, John that looks great. I feel like there is hope to build mine.

Any modifications you had to do to the basic Revell kit?

Nothing other than putting on tires/white walls from Modelhaus or perhaps from the Monogram 59/60 Cads and chevys.

I keep hoping for a diecast or promo to appear on EBAY but the only 2 diecasts that I've seen during the past year went into the stratosphere price-wise.

Franklin Mint made a whole defect patch (or several patches). The black paint used to chip off chrome plated (or silver colored) doors. These defects put the price nearly to the ground. For us, car building guys, a repair is routine work, and you can have a superb model for a fair price.

As for tire replacement, just remember, Monogram tooled up

new BF Goodrich Silvertown's (Now Brandless) for the 59 Cadillacs,

but used their old and SMALLER No-name white wall insert tires

on the Chevy's!

Another set that Might work are the Silvertown's from AMT's 57 Chrysler 300

(They are Still labeled too!!

Though the kit has yet to be re-issued.

The Silvertown's from AMT's other 50's & 60's kits are Smaller

(57 Chevy, 58 Edsel Pacer, 62 T-Bird, 60 Starliner, & Custom issue 62 Pontiac 421SD)

The Firestone Deluxe Champion from the Modern Tool 66 Riv might work too,

But that one is designed as a Twin Pin-Stripe rather that Wide-white side wall.

You Could sand the face smooth though and end up with a Wide-White.

And now that I've figured out how to do a durable brushed-metal finish (for the Caddy roof) I just MAY have to build one of these as a stocker.

There is a model show coming up here locally in about 3 weeks

I am hoping one of these is there avail.

I really want to hold one in my hands before laying out cash for one ( the multi piece body has me gun shy.)

I might look for a re-issue Johan 1958 promo Instead

The X-el promo is the one you want. Johan acetate 1958 originals are bananas now, and they smile a lot too. Plan on dropping $50-100 for a good styrene X-el from the '80s.

The Revell is as low as $12 at shows.

It's apples and oranges in many ways. Low cost, multi-piece less precise and Cadillac Eldorado versus expensive, one piece nice shape and a Fleetwood.
