landman Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 (edited) Finished fabricating a support and modifying the duct for the air filter. Modified the front of the body, something like Dan's. A bit of filler & sanding and it will be ready to prime. Edited January 14, 2021 by landman
Petetrucker07 Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 I'd say cut them a bit closer to the body, not quite flush. Lookin good man. Nice work so far.
Mopar - D Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Looking good Pat your air cleaner looks just right. Are you going to add a ladder to get to the upper deck?

landman Posted April 1, 2015 Author Posted April 1, 2015 I suppose so. I also thought a bit of a guardrail, so when they're half lit they don't fall off.
Mopar - D Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Pat I thought about the rails to but I'm going to pass on them. But I'm going for the ladder.
JTalmage Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Love the bendy straw exhaust Idea!!! I'd cut maybe an 1/8" or just a touch more off of the tips though. Love it so far!
landman Posted April 3, 2015 Author Posted April 3, 2015 (edited) Thanks guys. We now have Glass and some color on the body. Just wishing I had painted the treadplate first and masked it. Edited January 14, 2021 by landman
Mopar - D Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Looks nice Pat I taped mine but will still need to paint them. Looking forward to see the back on the frame with the cab.
landman Posted April 5, 2015 Author Posted April 5, 2015 (edited) My first crack at Alclad. Adapted the Louisville's steering shaft & installed. Added the tanks, bumper, turn signals. The mirrors were a hard fought battle. I had to improvise and cut off one of the braces to make them fit the N600 cab. Edited January 14, 2021 by landman
Petetrucker07 Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 Man, this looks good. I like it as just a cab and chassis, looks cool sittin that way. I'm sure it'll look great with the body on it.
Mopar - D Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 Pat great progress and your Alclad came out nice.
landman Posted April 5, 2015 Author Posted April 5, 2015 Thanks guys. Now I am debating whether to put on the 5 clearance lights on the roof or not.
Mopar - D Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 (edited) Do you have any older style clearance lights that you can use? They would go better. Edited April 6, 2015 by Mopar - D
landman Posted April 13, 2015 Author Posted April 13, 2015 (edited) Any updates? Edited April 13, 2015 by landman
landman Posted April 13, 2015 Author Posted April 13, 2015 I have been busy with other things. Will get back at it soon.
landman Posted April 14, 2015 Author Posted April 14, 2015 (edited) Masked the body and painted the deckplate areas. BMF'd the marker lights and colored the "lenses".Now I'm debatingwhether to BMF the compartment hinges and handles too. The other day I built a 331 Hemi for my diorama. Its sprues had some interesting curves to them. I think they will become the ladder and railing. Edited January 14, 2021 by landman
Superpeterbilt Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 The paint on that body looks excellent. You have really taken this well above the quality of the kit. Its going to look great when completed.

Mopar - D Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Pat looking good I just posted mine with the handles with BMF. I debated on the hinges also but decided not on them.
tbill Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 looks great, railing material looks like it has some possibilities as well. and I agree, bmf the handles, but not the hinges.
